"Club Rio II"

Stayed here beginning of October. Very nice bungalow, very clean, but it was very basic.
The only thing that was disappointing was the entertainment as there wasn't a lot, bit of bingo, fashion show, parrots, but I found apart from that it was a very relaxing holiday.
You do need to go out of the resort to eat, but as Faro II is just round the corner, this wasn't a problem. There is a free bus to the dunes, or if you feel energetic it can be walked in 30-40 minutes.
If you want a holiday to just chill, the Club Rio Maspalomas II is the place.

We stayed here the year before for a week and liked it so came back for a fortnight. The bungalows are quite small and basic but what you do get is adequate: fridge, colour TV, twin ring hob, double bed, single bed, sofa type bed. You also have your own patio furniture, table, two chairs and two sun loungers. You also get maid service five times a week so the bungalows are kept clean and tidy.
The grounds are also well looked after and were clean at all times. There is entertainment most nights things like bingo, live music etc. It's OK, nothing special though.
There is a buffet style restaurant which offers something for everyone - local dishes or more traditional stuff. Food was excellent always. All the staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. So, to sum up, been twice and would go again. Great, no frills holiday.

We had an excellent stay with friendly staff, excellent food in the restaurant, clean bungalows with nice easy access and great entertainment at night. A very relaxing and enjoyable stay. I would definitely return sooner rather than later. Thanks to all staff at Club Rio Maspalomas.

We stayed recently for two weeks here and found it to be a nice quiet comfortable apartment. The cleaning was done regularly by friendly staff and we found the whole complex great and had sun on the patio all day from 10 a.m. until 5 -6 p.m. Very colourful gardens all around, although locally rated as one key, this is two star in holiday brochures and we have stayed in many (over 12) places in the last three years and this was by far the nicest.

The Club Rio Maspalomas II has three swimming pools - one salty, one baby and one chemical. They are shared by Club Rio Maspalomas I. The site is about ten minutes away from Faro 2. There is a kids' club owned by Cosmos. The bungalows are small but are okay.

"Club Rio Maspalomas II Apartments"

Don't believe any of the brochures that claim this is 3* accommodation. The local rating is one key, which is accurate. The apartments are very basic, with no cooking facilities except for two electric rings. The apartment is very small, even for two people and the furnishings are tired and cheap. The design of the apartments means that they get little direct sun and so can be cold - when we were there, everything felt damp as it was so cold inside, inlcuding the bedsheets and even our clothes. When we checked in, we had old bloodstains and other unidentified marks on the bedding.
If you get it cheap and don't mind roughing it, that is your choice, but do not be misled that this apartment is anything above 1* accommodation.
