"Don't Go!"
Travel date:
June 2008
Just returned from a 17 night stay and would not recommend this hotel. Walls are paper thin - you can hear everything (and I mean everything!) that goes on in the adjacent rooms. The balconies in the sea-facing rooms are tiny and filthy - we had pigeon poo on our balcony which wasn't cleaned at all for the duration of our stay. Furniture in rooms is ancient - beds very uncomfortable and not well made by the cleaning staff. Don't think I got a good night's sleep while staying there. Corridors noisy - doors banging until all hours. Scant regard is paid to hygiene, with bathrooms in need of a total refurbishment. I cannot understand those who say this is equivalent to a four or five star. I love Benidorm but will not be returning to the Mar Blau. You'd be better off in one of the old town hostels, to be honest.

"Central And Friendly"
Travel date:
June 2008
I stayed at this hotel for five days in June. It had been recommended to me by a friend. The hotel is very central and it over looks the sea. The hotel décor is a bit tired looking, but it is very clean. Towels changed everyday and room cleaned everyday.
Staff were very helpful. The food was basic but plentiful. We had a room with sea view and balcony which I would recommend. If I was returning to Benidorm, I would stay at the Mar Blau again.

"Hotel Superb"
Travel date:
June 2007
We stayed at the Mar Blau in June 2007 and will be going back in September 2007. We have also booked to go back to the Mar Blau in June 2008. The hotel is in a excellent location, the food good and the rooms very comfortable. The hotel is spotlessly clean and the staff very friendly. Reception staff very helpful.

"Mar Blau Is Great"
Travel date:
April 2007
My wife and I stayed at the Mar Blau. We had a sea view room, on the sixth floor,(to be recommended). The room was adequate, water was hot, beds comfortable and view magnificent.
Dining room was not silver service, buffet but there was plenty of food, it was hot and dishes were replenished, when needed.
Staff were friendly, especially reception, wine prices were very reasonable, service was very good and the tables were not too close together.
The hotel's location was splendid, close to the old town and the boat trips. I would love to go there again, but Portland Holidays have ceased going there and I cannot find another company who do a package to the Mar Blau. I will have to book independently.
We loved the hotel. It's not four star, but who cares. It was comfortable, friendly and adequate food. Who needs a swimming pool? There's the whole of the Mediterranean outside.
We would thoroughly recommend this hotel. Don't take my word for it, go there.

This is a fantastic hotel. Food excellent, service great, good value for money. Mostly Spanish older generation guests, all very friendly. Straight on to beach. No noise from street, room clean and sea view out of this world. Recommend to all.
