"Romani Hotel"
Travel date:
September 2007
Stayed at the Romani for seven days on all inclusive. First impressions were it was very clean and staff very helpful and professional.
Food was very good! Plenty of selection and continually being replenished. On the evening meal you had to ensure that you got in early or it was difficult to get a table. We put this down to those being on half board and coming in for their evening meal. When the restaurant was closed they had the snack bar open. This stayed open until 11 p.m. every day. I say snack but you could get a full meal in there if you wanted. There was always salad, cold meats, cheese, bread rolls and always a hot meal selection on as well.
We were also told by another couple that they had arrived at the hotel at 2 a.m. and the hotel had laid on food for them in the snack bar!
The drinks were not watered down, the only drawback would be the queuing at bars. But everyone was very civilised about this and it was never a problem. The staff served everyone as quickly as they could.
The pool area was fantastic, there were always enough sunbeds and sometimes some to spare. There was never any need to get up at the crack of dawn to put towels out, we just put out a towel out on our way to breakfast. The pools are very big, thus this meant that we were at the end without children (no offence intended). The pool area was swept every night and washed down every morning.
Entertainment was minimal and mainly aimed at families with children. But as my husband says, with it being all inclusive, they don't want to keep you in the hotel drinking the 'free' drink!
We found a couple of good bars in The Strand which is only a five minute walk away. And for any football mad men, there is 'Tiffany's', run by an English man and it has non stop football games. It has several TVs and on one occasion they were showing five different football matches at the same time!
The only downfall that we found was that we had rain for two days, which in its self is not a problem but we found there was nothing to do but sit in the bar and drink on these days.
Personally we would say this is one of the better hotels in Calas de Mallorca. We went walking round the other hotels and even went inside them to have a look around. Romani is by far the cleanest and has the best pool area.
Overall this was a very good hotel and we enjoyed our stay very much. The only thing we would change is the time of year that we go as it's now coming into the rainy season over there.

"Club Cala Romani Kept Us Well Entertained!"
Travel date:

This was my first holiday abroad with my boyfriend. Kids thought it was brilliant, everyone had something to keep them occupied, from playing volleyball, five aside football, aqua aerobics, salsa dancing, archery and shooting. At night there was always something different, and food was good although a little repetitive, but that's what you expect in all inclusive holidays.
Would go there again. Entertainment staff were great, although at times it was a little like the Eurovision song contest because it's an international hotel. Only regret was only going for one week, it wasn't long enough.

"Club Cala Romani Is Brilliant"

I went to this hotel. It is brilliant. It has three massive pools and one pool down at the park which is massive too but only up to my ankles.
The food is ok - it depends what you like. If you were thinking about going to this hotel, choose an apartment - the rooms in the hotel are tiny.
Calas de Mallorca - it is quite good. It has bars trampolining, supermarkets and clothes and bits and bobs shops. You have to try the wee karaoke bar on the corner. Its fab - it sells food, drink and there is a different theme every night.

"Wow, What A Holiday"

I am a pre-Club Cala Romani Apartments guest, even before all the scare with food poisoning was happening. In fact, it is 17 years since I first stayed there, then I returned the following year and for several years to follow. Yhe only year I didn't go was the year in which the food poisoning outbreak happened. The one mistake that happened in this hotel brought the excellent reputation that it had over many year down to rock bottom. Unfortunately, tv companies dont advertise when good things are happening only the bad.
I used to travel with my parents when I was young, but I enjoyed it that much that when my son was born, there was no hesitation in where we should take him on his first holiday abroad.
This hotel offers everything from swimming to tennis, to entertainment day and night, there is never a minute of the day where there is nothing going on. I have searched for the last few years to find this hotel, and eventually I have managed it. I can also say that no amount of food poisoning in years gone by could ever put me off wanting to return to such a wonderful holiday destination and hotel as this one.
These opinions are those of HotelStreet visitors and not of HotelStreet.
