The Deya apartments were well sized, clean but basic with no TV. The balcony doors do not have double glazing, but for two people in the bedroom, fine or if you are a very heavy sound sleeper, you could stay in the front, although we did not stay in the block directly above the bars!

It is near the beach, bars, restaurants, taxi rank and couldn't have asked for more! Pool was clean and a good size. Staff were friendly and helpful with maid service few times a week. All in all good. A few of our friends stayed at other hotels and they spent quite a lot of money in taxis to get to where we were as that's where all the best bars etc are.

Would stay there again, but only two to an apartment and I would make sure we were not put in block directly above 'Durty Nelly's' and 'Shamrock Bar'.

We were a bit worried about the Deya apartments after reading some of the reviews, but we found them okay. They are basic, but clean.

The pool area was great, the location is fantastic, as long as you don't mind being right in the thick of things and boy, we were! Up to the left of Deya, you'll find a great bar called, 'Rehab'! Brilliant place, we spent most nights there and Aileen, the owner is fantastic and makes you feel right at home! 'Greenhills' is the place to go after midnight. Fabulous holiday!

We stayed at the Deya for a week and had four children and got put right at the top of the building and the balcony was not stable.

There were no bars open and no entertainment and no staff, apart from behind a little reception desk. The swimming pool was never cleaned.

Most rooms had Spanish residents and we were the only people who seemed to be there on holiday. The resort was expensive and had to travel on a bus to get to Maglauf to eat.

This is the last time we are going there. If you are thinking of staying there, then don't think it is going to be a good holiday.

Deya Apartments undersells itself. The pool is beautiful (and there are several terraces where you can escape the children if you wish!) and the accommodation more than comfortable enough. One criticism would be that the maid service is terrible; they did not make our beds, give us clean bed linen, empty the bin and gave us fresh towels only once. In fact, the only thing they did seem to do was give us abundant amounts of toilet roll! At one point we had 7 rolls in the bathroom and we believe this was so that they didn't have to come back for the rest of the week. There also isn't a 'do not disturb' sign for your door and we discovered that on one day the maids had come into the apartment when we were still sleeping - a very unsettling thought! The other staff at Deya are wonderful though; one man in particular got a lizard out of our apartment (don't leave the balcony door open!) and was efficient, friendly and spoke very good English. The location of Deya Apartments is surprisingly central and I do not believe that the beach could possibly be the 150 metres from the beach claimed: it was almost directly on our doorstep. One word of warning would be that underneath Deya there are 3 Irish bars and one club; ideal for us since we stayed up till closing time but if you wanted to go to bed early a complete nightmare, though the balcony door is surprisingly soundproof. Overall a wonderful holiday!

They never mention the disco underneath you. As the dancers leave it at 6.30 a.m., they never fail to wake you as they go. Apart from that the Deya was OK.
