Review title: "Hotel Rubbish"
Travel date: August 2008
Breakfast rubbish - no beans and hot dog sausages. Evening meals all the same. Ended up eating out all the time. With two young children it was not cheap, having already paid £2,000 to go. Would not go back to the Belvedere hotel again.

Review title: "Robbery"
Travel date: August 2008
This hotel is very dated, is grubby and needs refurbishment.
Staff are polite but at times very ignorant.

The food is often tasteless and reminds me of the slops I used to have years ago whilst serving in the field for Her Majesty the Queen. The choices are the same every night and becomes boring. In the end we were eating out.

On the last day we had our passports, credit cards, debit cards, house keys, car keys and my mobile phone stolen. These items were in a small rucksack placed between my feet whilst I was using a hotel computer at an enclosed computer desk. Apparently, someone bent down behind me and slid the bag between my legs without me knowing. When the theft was reported to the reception staff, they were dis-interested and didn't want to know about the theft. One member of staff commented that it was a regular occurrence and that thefts were common in the hotel. I couldn't believe that they never even wanted to call the police and never told me how to report it or where the police station was. The only good point was that the travel company that I booked with had a rep in the hotel later that day who helped me.

The hotel has no security with anybody walking in off the street and into the hotel including the accommodation block without being challenged. The Belvedere hotel should be given a very wide berth.

Review title: "Business Travellers Avoid This Place Like The Plague"
Travel date: April 2008
Starting with the hotel staff, who wouldn't recognise a true hotel if it landed on their heads and ending with the noise.
There was nothing good about the Belvedere. Shame, since the facility has true potential. Unless you're retired or a kid this is definitely not for you. When on business, do yourself a favour and avoid it like the plague.

They make us pay in advance claiming that 'tourists leave without paying'. I actually think that it is so you won't leave the next day. Rooms are small and the walls are paper thin. Impolite guests do as they please as late as they want with the blessing of the staff, which is obviously not trained or up to the task.

Things that are quite simple most times in any other hotel can easily become a true test to one's patience, regardless of your nationality or ability to speak the language (I speak fluent Spanish).

Review title: "Belevedere Was Not Great"
Travel date: August 2007
Well, the Belvedere is a bit tired and needs a refurbishment now. The food was not very hot, not cooked enough and pretty tasteless most of the time.

The rooms are small and the walls paper thin so ear plugs were our best buy in resort. It was clean but very busy and we did not enjoy this hotel at all. We will not be staying there again.

Review title: "Excellent Value For Money!"
Travel date: August 2007
Just returned today from a weeks stay at the Belvedere. Overall I thought the hotel was very, very good. The food was fantastic with massive variety - a typical evenings dishes on offer would be; full salad range, fish in sauce, veal in sauce, pork in gravy (yum, yum!) cooked vegetables, chips, rice, roast pork, pizza, pasta, or a dish cooked in front of you, i.e. hamburgers, chicken etc. For the children there was an optional bar for nuggets, pasta and pizza. There were at least 15 choices of desserts. Breakfast had just as much choice including fresh fruit, coffee and juice. The restaurant staff were lovely, friendly and helpful.

Our room was spotless with two queen sized beds in it (there was myself and two children aged 15 and 11 in the room). The pool was very clean with a lifeguard present every day and plenty of sun beds.

The only thing which let the hotel down was the lack of decent evening entertainment! We had karaoke to a keyboard player and singer duo which was rubbish and we cursed the weather for two days having sung 'Raindrops keep falling on my head!'

Location was good being only ten minutes walk from the beach yet far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the busy town area.

There was a fair amount of Spanish guests there, many of whom were disabled in some way, but they were all friendly and seemed to be having a really good time.

As an overall summary, our holiday was excellent value for money. Didn't give a lot for PortAventura but hotel great and food fantastic. I would be happy to book a week at the Belvedere again.

Review title: "Fantastic"
Travel date: May 2007
I found this hotel fabulous. I work in a hotel myself so I know how hard the staff were working, everything was to an A++++ standard. Rooms were cleaned daily, towels changed and sheets changed. Staff were so helpful even if they struggled on their English. I found the gym a great place to relax when suffering sunburn - oops. The spa was cold but who needs a hot spa when its 27 degrees outside. I would go back to this hotel - fantastic value for money and even though it was full of Spanish people it was a great experience for us. Our room was for three adults a bit of a tight squeeze as only three single beds but still fantastic.

Review title: "Belvedere - Worst Hotel"
Travel date: May 2007
This hotel is the worst I have been to. We didn't like the staff who were very ignorant, the place had a vile smell and I don't think they have ever heard of fresheners in the toilets. The room was small and although it was cleaned every day they never changed the sheets. We also had to buy air freshener as we could smell cigarette smoke from past smokers. Toilet always smelt as well, like the type in a public park! Very noisy in the mornings, walls are paper thin. The food was awful and always cold. We only ate there twice. Entertainment was ok if you are over 75, go to bed at 11.30 and into Spanish waltz dancing. The pool was very nice though, although no games, no splashing, no smoking are permitted and no poolside waiter service. Salou it self is very nice and the beaches are great. Never again would I return to the Belvedere.

Review title: "Belvedere Hotel"
Travel date: April 2007
I have just returned from a week stays at the Belvedere Hotel in Salou and was really pleased with the hotel. We had a quad room which although small, was okay (two double beds put together, en suite bathroom with shower and bath and hairdryer). Staff were extremely friendly and very helpful. Rooms were cleaned daily.

Food wasn't great but then it wasn't horrible either. Breakfast and dinner is buffet style. The only downside to the food was that it was lukewarm all the time. We even tried being first in the dining room in the hope our food would be hot but no, we found out later that this is the way the Spanish eat their food.

There is entertainment in the hotel. Again, not great, but not that bad either. They try to cater for all nationalities. The theme park is about a 20 minute walk away and you are really close to the town centre. I would definitely return to this hotel.

Review title: "Belvedere Hotel Is Appalling"
Travel date: May 2006
This hotel was absolutely appalling. The hotel staff are unfriendly, unhelpful and moody. Firstly, the swimming pool is a good size, apart from the fact you aren't allowed to take balls into it, or floats or wear sunglasses, no jumping in and they frown upon you splashing. There are no outside toilets and you have to get dressed and put shoes on to go inside the hotel to use the toilets. The gym consists of a rowing machine and a bike, the sauna is freezing and the steam room is tiny.

Next the rooms. They are relatively small and the lights kept on going off not only in our room but in others. They never got cleaned and when they did, the maids stole money and precious belongings. Towels and sheets weren't replaced despite asking and they were filthy to start with.

Next is the overall cleanliness of the hotel. Its not. There was blood on the wall when walking up the stairs that hadn't been cleaned and is probably still there now.

Next the staff. Well, where do I start with them, they are so rude. When we first entered the hotel, it wasn't too late in the evening and yet they were rude to us, despite being a large group of 30. We had to escort ourselves to our rooms which were all on the same floor and there were four different lifts to choose from. We had to guess which to take. One of the double rooms had three people in it when it was only made for two and even then it was cramped. When telling the reception staff, they didn't seem to be bothered and didn't do anything about it and then only two of them could get into the restaurant to have their evening meal. An hour later it got sorted but by then they had stopped serving the meals.

Whilst in the restaurant the staff are rude. The chefs are kind and some all of the male staff are friendly, but the females look at you like a piece of dirt and ram trolleys into you and expect you to move. The food is appalling anyway and you may as well eat out. It isn't cooked properly and is cold.

Overall the hotel is awful and smells funny. It is dirty and the staff are rude apart from some of the bar staff. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone. It's a shame as its location is good being just ten minutes away from all of the nightlife in Salou and 15-20 minutes away from an excellent beach.

I thought the hotel was lovely and clean, although a little noisy sometimes. I am looking for photos or information on the flamenco dancers. Could anyone help?

Review title: "Belvedere Is Super!"
Travel date: July 2004
Belvedere Hotel is one of the cheapest hotels in Salou, but also one of the best. The service is great and the rooms are very nice and well-taken care of. The food is very delicious and you can see the cooks preparing the food.

I've been there twice.. and I'm going for the third time this summer (2005).
