The location is perfect for everyone who stays at the hotel Tropico Playa. I am thoroughly delighted that I have stayed at this hotel.
The hotel was very clean, the staff were kind and pleasant towards fellow tourists and the rooms were absolutely fine - no worries at all. The dining room can sometimes get crowded but it is well managed by the staff.
The entertainment was very limited and can sometimes get boring but overall this hotel is a perfect place to be and I recommend this location to everyone.
I will be coming to this hotel again very soon.

The location of the hotel is super - across the road from a beautiful beach. The hotel was clean and the staff all friendly and helpful. The rooms were fine although the mattress was a bit hard. It would be good to have a TV in the room as the TV area can be very noisy as young children and teenagers hang around this are unsupervised. The internet station is also located here.
We were pleasantly surprised by the variety and quality of the food, granted we enjoy plain good food and found ample supply for our tastes. The dining room is crowded when the hotel is full but well managed by the staff. The entertainment was limited but no problem for us as there is excellent entertainment all around the hotel.
We would definitely go back to the Tropico Playa but not as late in October as the weather was changeable.

Well, what can I say? Good points were the position of the hotel, the staff were good and polite and rooms were clean and tidy,
Bad points were the food was not good at all. This is a family hotel but the food wasn't very kids friendly - no beans in the evening at all and kids love beans. We were there two weeks and only had fish fingers and chicken nuggets once. The bread rolls were like hand grenades.
There are far too many tables for the size of the dining room and we were always banging other people when leaving the table.
There was one 21" TV in the entire hotel. Sometimes its nice to sit in your room and watch TV, but not here,
The pool was way too small for the size of the hotel.
Although the two lads behind the bar were great, they were constantly running out of drinks and three euros for their cheap pint of lager is a complete rip off.
Sorry, but we won't be going back to the Tropico Playa.

"Tropico Playa Worth A Visit"

This hotel is right on the beach and right in the middle of shops, pubs and restaurants. The location is fantastic and you can eat your meals with a lovely view of the ocean. The rooms are basic enough - twin beds pushed together and a smaller bed. The room wasn't cramped though and we felt we had enough room. There is air conditioning but that's it - no fridge or TV or hair dryer. The only negative about the room was that the beds were quite firm and only one flat pillow each. The rooms were clean but not very modern. However, you don't spend that much time in the room really.
Now the pool. I was surprised at how small it was and how deep, 1.35 metres at the shallow end and about 2.5 metres at the deep end. If you have a couple of kids they will love this place. They are allowed bring their lilos and swim rings into the pool (even though the notices say not) and the kids have a great time. If you are a couple with no kids and are looking for a quiet relaxing time by the pool, forget this hotel because the kids are just having so much fun and they do make noise. We didn't mind because it was great to see them having such fun.
Most of the people were from the UK, some Irish and some European and we can honestly say we found everyone to be really pleasant. The thing about having such a small pool is you get chatting to lots of different people so there's a lovely atmosphere in this hotel.
The staff are mostly British and are extremely nice and helpful. The food is lovely, fry up or cereals and or fruit and yoghurt for breakfast, boiled eggs and fresh rolls etc, really lovely. The dinners were very good too, a lot of stuff you get at home like lasagne, chops and chicken nuggets for kids. There were always chips but nicely done vegetables too. About six to eight desserts to choose from and the fruit bowls were always full with a great variety. Oh and the dining room is air conditioned. The drinks and snack by the pool are a bit pricey too but there's a Mcdonalds across the road.
I would go back and I would recommend the Tropico Playa.

The location of the hotel was fantastic, the beach was literally across the road. The staff were very friendly and top notch, especially Pedro, and the two young Birmingham lads behind the bar.
The rooms were acceptable and very clean but nothing like in the picture. Our balcony was located at the side above the restaurant and the bins and it was impossible to sit out there because of the constant smell of chip fat and unless you get a front facing balcony it's pretty rubbish. We were offered an alternative room which resembled a dungeon which we promptly declined and had to make do.
The food was good but not much choice for young kids, nothing for babies. The pool and restaurant were far too small for the amount of guests staying there. Although there was no waiting time for food, it just felt like we were rammed in like sheep.
All in all enjoyable, but wouldn't return to the Tropico Playa.

Great hotel, great spot to stay. We have stayed there twice now as it is right in the middle of everything, also quiet enough if you don't like all the night life.
Friendly staff, lovely food, good size rooms, hotel is right across from the beach - what more could you want? Looking forward to going back to the Tropico Playa next year.

I stayed in the hotel Tropicano Playa with my 14 and 17 year old sons and my 17 year old nephew. We had a fabulous time. We had adjoining rooms. The hotel was lovely and clean, the staff very pleasant.
The hotel was very well situated in a safe area where Ifelt happy to allow the 17 year olds some space. The food in the hotel was very good.
My only criticism, although only small, was that the hotel catered for the typical British palate with very little European cuisine.

Fantastic time had by all our party which included two children and ten adults. Food and drink fantastic. Would recommend this hotel to anyone. Staff couldn't be more helpful, especially Ramon and Juan – well, I think that was his name - had a few too many jugs of sangria when I asked him! Cannot wait to go back - here's to seeing you soon.

I've just got home from a fortnight staying at the Tropico Playa. It was lovely. We had a bit of a to do when we first arrived as we were put in a room where we had lots of stairs, when I had specified that we needed a lift, but that was sorted and we got another room.
Perfect location. Literally just across the road from the beach and McDonalds! The pool was a bit on the small side so we took advantage of the beach being so close. Will definitely go there again.

This is a good clean hotel in a great location. Across the street is a lovely beach.
The only downside was the evening meal, which is the same every day, but there is a great place to eat some good old English food just down the street - cafe ‘Natalies'.

The Tropico Playa is in a great location, across the street from the beach and opposite McDonalds. The manager of the marina next door doesn't like people sitting out on the balcony and talking after 10pm or he shines a torch in your eyes. Other than that its a great place to stay.

My parents kept staying in this hotel for the past three years and highly recommended it so we decided to give it a go. We went with our two year old and another couple and their one year old and I have to say it was great. The rooms were clean, the food was great and it was wonderful not having to cook. The staff were very friendly and great with children.
My brother and his family have also stayed there and had the same opinion and the best thing is that it is just across the road from the beach. We liked it so much that we are booked again this year and of course my parents are too.
These opinions are those of HotelStreet visitors and not of HotelStreet.
