The Sol de Alcudia Hotel is in a central position in Puerto de Alcudia, approximately 300 metres from the beach and 1,800 metres from the harbour. From the hotel there is a view of Lake Menor and the mountains.

This three star air conditioned hotel offers gardens, a swimming pool with children's section, sun terrace with loungers and parasols, children's play area, sitting area, pool bar, reception area, bar with satellite television, snack bar and non-smoking restaurant that serves a buffet style breakfast. For sporting activities, the Sol de Alcudia offers a tennis court, table tennis and pool table (all at an extra charge) as well as squash, horse riding and water sports close by. The hotel offers its guests weekly entertainment during the evening with shows, dancing and music.

Make sure it's the right hotel reviews you are looking at. There's Sol Alcudia and the Sol de Alcudia apartments. I think people get mixed up. We stayed at the Sol de Alcudia hotel (German). We had our three year old son with us. Entertainment for him was nil. We were half board. It was Ok - edible.

Small rooms but kept clean. Low key entertainment at night. Always went out. 'Cheers' pub is good. 'Bugs Bunny' has good grub and is reasonably priced. Great beach is ten minutes away and close to entertainment but if I knew before hand it was German catered for, I would have definitely cancelled so don't make the same mistake. Make sure you're reading the correct reviews before you book.

If you like to eat Spanish/English food, then the Sol de Alcudia hotel is not for you. It mainly caters for the German visitors. We complained to reception but were told that 90% of guests are Germans. There fore you will need extra cash to eat outside the hotel.

We had been to Majorca twice before but in different accommodation which was also very good. But this was the first time our son had been aboard - he was 12 at the time and he really enjoyed himself. He didn't want to come home.

The rooms in the Sol de Alcudia were lovely and clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Also my son was very impressed with the all day and all night entertainer - Big Al - he was brill with the kids and the adults. I will look forward to returning again this year.

Clean good staff, always entertainment in evening, always bingo night. Noisy in the one bedded apartments till midnight (the ones overlooking the pool) but two bedded apartments quiet (at the back). Close to beach. Watch out for the bizarre towel dash when the pool opens at 9 a.m - a real Beadle moment. The pool can get a little busy with older children and water pistols!
