Hi. Just wanted to put my version of the Las Gaviotas hotel in front of every one. Do not go. No entertainment at all, staff was rude and pool was ice cold to the point of not even standing in it. The only positive thing about the holiday was that the beach is very close just over the main road,

I will not be returning and for any one who is going, I wish you well. We have two young children under five and they have never been so naughty and fed up as they were when they were there. If you are going to go, try another hotel as area was nice. The Bellevue hotel is really nice.

Review title: "October Break"
Travel date: October 2007
We had a really enjoyable stay at Las Gaviotas. It's well situated - a stone's throw from a really nice beach. The bus stops right outside the door, and as we were at the back, there was no noise from the road. The room was a good size and very clean.

The entertainment left a lot to be desired and we only ate once in the hotel as the food at dinner was uninspiring and not very hot. But there were good places to eat nearby. We ignored all the 'British' pubs and restaurants, went local, and came home feeling all the better for our Mediterranean diet!

Review title: "Excellent Holiday"
Travel date: September 2007
We returned this morning from a week at Las Gaviotas and my two children aged nine and 12 had a fantastic time as did we! The place was spotless and the staff very friendly with good English, the food great and the pools lovely (no colder than other places we have stayed).

Over the week we found some great pubs 'Jp's 'Fab', a lovely family run bar with entertainment, games, karaoke and other games to embarrass you and the kids but I have to say my two requested to go back every night. This is also a good place to eat.

The beach only a stones throw away with water like your bath tub - I didn't want to get out it was that warm. With this hotel, you will be right in the middle of the main Playa de Muro strip, so not far after a night out and not noisy once you are in. We will definitely be going back. Plenty to do - water parks, markets, boat trips etc and I would recommend you give it a go. Happy holidays!

Review title: "Las Gaviotas Apartments Are Great"
Travel date: May 2007
We arrived at 2.30 in the morning. Expected complementary tea, coffee and milk but got nothing as there was no where open at this time. Went to bed very thirsty. Other than that, the place was brilliant. Weather great, really, really hot.

Any way, if you are looking for family entertainment try 'P Jays' - out of the hotel, turn right and it's the next on the right. Good for breakfast but not evening meals. There is the 'Swan' pub straight across down towards the beach. Good time there, food not so good.
The 'George' pub ok but food not good. If you are going to eat out, go into Alcudia itself. Bus stop straight outside hotel or taxi cost the same for bus or taxi about four euros.

The beach is great, the resort has quite a lot to offer for the family. We had a great time, lots of fun. We would recommend it very much.

There was no entertainment on what so ever, oh except for a 20 minute parrot show, that was it. The pools were freezing. The food was nice, that was about it.

Do not recommend Las Gaviotas it to any one who has kids. It's full of mosquitoes in and out of the room because it was built on a swamp.

Review title: "Would Not Go Back"
Travel date: September 2006
Just got back from Las Gaviotas in Alcudia. Very disapointing it was too. We have two young children and when we booked itsaid the hotel had entertainment run by them selves but that was not right - none at all. The pools were ice cold - I mean ice cold. Kids were bored due to nothing for them to do. The amount of mosquitoes in the room was unreal (bitten to death we were). Glad to be home. Never again would we go back. Bad experience but you learn from them.

The hotel is fantastic. All of the staff are very friendly, helpful and welcoming! The pools are really child friendly, with a section just for infants! The local is so close to the beach! The best thing is the size of the balconies - they are so big! The room service is also good and helpful!

The only problem is the television there. There are only about seven channels available, but about only three of these are actually watchable. Plus the entertainment is also a let down, but with so much going on around you, you hardly need to bother with this!

The beach at Playa de Muro is fantastic and so clean! If you go in the water, you can actually see fish swimming around you! But, the beach on Alcudia isn't as nice as this! I would recommend this to anyone and I plan to go back, as soon as I have finished my studies! Enjoy!

Review title: "Las Gaviotas Aparthotel A Real Holiday"
Travel date: October 2005
My wife and I and our three children aged 18, 15 and 13 stayed in an apartment for two weeks self catering and were totally taken aback by the superb standard of our accommodation.

The staff were extremely pleasant, cooperative and professional, from the maid to the receptionist. It showed that they were all part of a professional team, with each member having just as an important a role as the other.

The swimming pools are fantastic with a jacuzzi area in the main pool. The gym and sauna area are easily reached and a nice quiet area.

The hotel itself is situated literally one minute from the perfect beach with its sun beds and bars and close to all amenities. This hotel is really a great place to base your holiday and relax to see all of Alcudia and enjoy the beach water sports, parasailing, pedaloes, banana boats etc. A great time was had by us all. A fantastic hotel in a brilliant location with friendly staff and lovely facilities. A definite 10 out of 10. Try it, you will not be disappointed.

Nice hotel, very clean, good facilities, staff on reception were brilliant and really helpful, nothing too much trouble and their English was excellent.

A good hotel if you don't want to be right in centre of Alcudia which I would imagine is quite noisy in high season. And you are just a short taxi or bus ride away.

Las Gaviotas is really good for families. They have two big pools and two splash pools for the kids. The pool bar is really good. Most of the waiters understand english.

The cleanliness of the apartments is fab. You really can't fault any of the apartments. It's close to the beach and shops, you have a shop onsite which isn't that dear, but you will be better off going to the local supermarket and buying your food.

We found a local bar called JP's. This is a British bar run by a Spanish family. Paco, who they call the ugly boss, gets everyone involved. They entertain the kids with party games and have visits from the Tweenies and the Teletubbies. It's a really friendly atmosphere. We are going back to Alcudia in September, but trying a different hotel because Las Gaviotas is that popular we can't get back in for this year. We guarentee that you will enjoy your stay there.

These opinions are those of HotelStreet visitors and not of HotelStreet.
