The three star Parador de Alcaniz Hotel is built on the hill top of the Cumbre de Cerro Pui-Pinos. This 12th-13th century castle-convent became the seat of the Order of Calatrava in 1179. Dominating the landscape of the Maestrazgo, it conserves the keep and the bell tower-sacristy reconverted into an 18th c. Aragonese palace. Gothic walls and a baroque façade are inserted into an interior with soft, red and green coloured shades, adorned with Spanish wood in furniture and beams.
The hotel features a garden, bar/café, garden/terrace, laundry service, parking and a restaurant.
The Parador de Alcaniz has 12 rooms, all with air conditioning, safety deposit box, central heating, mini bar, hair dryer, telephone and television.
