The three star Mar y Sol Aparthotel is located in the resort of Los Cristianos, in the south west of Tenerife. The hotel is especially adapted for disabled guests and three further companies are associated with the hotel: The centre for prevention and rehabilitation 'Teralava', the diving centre 'Mar y Sol Aquasport' and the disability service station 'LeRo'. The architecture of the Mar y Sol comprises a Spanish-style construction, built on two and three levels accessible throughout by lifts. The few steps within the complex can be avoided using ramps. The Mar y Sol lies approximately 300 metres from the eight kilometre long sea-promenade and is constructed on a slight ground elevation and built on different levels around an pool area. Because the way down to the sea is sloping it has easy to reach the beach and the centre of town. Coming back to the hotel may present problems for guests with restricted mobility but these can be overcome by using either an electric wheelchair or the shuttle-service both offered by the disability service centre 'LeRo'.

Studio apartments sleep up to two people and offer a sofa-bed in the lounge area, wheel-in kitchenette with fridge, balcony or terrace and a bathroom with wheel-in shower and toilet. Apartments sleep up to four people and have twin beds in bedroom, living room with sofa bed, wheel-in kitchenette with fridge, balcony or terrace and bathroom with wheel-in shower and toilet and in some cases with bath. Superior apartments are of new construction and sleep up to four people. Non smoking rooms are also available. The Mar y Sol also provides free toilet and shower chairs.

The aparthotel's restaurant offers a breakfast buffet, lunch menu and buffet dinner. Special diets, such as vegetarian, can be served on request. The restaurant has non-smoking and smoking area. Every week there is a dinner entertainment programme ranging from Spanish folk singing, flamenco shows, karaoke and live music.

The aparthotel's pool area includes two big pools and a therapy pool. One of the big pools (10.80 by 16.80 metres) is heated all year through at approximately 32 degrees and provides neck-showers, whirlpools, water cascades, jacuzzis and massage showers. The second big pool (10.60 by 14.60 metres) has a water temperature that is kept approximately between 22 and 25 degrees. This pool is the favourite for sporty swimmers. Both pools are equipped with a hoist and easy to use steps with handrails to help the elderly and the disabled gain access to the pool. The therapy pool (5.70 by 10.70 metres) is 50 centimetres deep and has handrails along one side for the purpose of movement therapy. The water temperature in this pool is also kept approximately between 22 and 25 degrees. The pool area has a number of sun beds that are specially designed for the Mar y Sol. Their height allows wheelchair users to transfer easily onto the sun beds and the large sunshades and palm trees shelter the area from the sun. The pool area is provided with a non-smoking area and for the safety of all swimming pool users, a lifeguard supervises the pool eight hours a day. The aparthotel has its own prevention and rehabilitation centre 'Teralava'. This centre unites traditional with modern medicine through the combination of classical, therapeutic approaches with holistic, alternative methods. The unique therapy applications and personal assistance headed by qualified therapists from 'Teralava', help to harmonize and stabilise body and soul. Other facilities at the hotel include a mini market located at the south west end of the hotel and a gym.
