Hotel Maspalomas Princess

My husband, myself and two children (ages four and eight years) have just returned (today) from a weeks vacation at the Maspalomas Princess. Our first night in the hotel was quite disappointing. We were allocated a first floor family room (1008 for anyone unfortunate enough to get this room!). On entering the room first impressions were 'wow, it's huge!', until you realise the noise from the bar area - which was situated directly beneath this room - was extremely loud, to the point whereby the floor in our room vibrated with the noise from the resident piano players speakers. On complaining to reception we were told all larger family rooms were allocated on this floor - whoever designed the layout of the hotel obviously didn't take into account some families have children who may require an earlier bed time than midnight, when the noise stops. We had to tolerate two nights of very noisy music until being moved to a second floor much smaller room, which thankfully was a lot quieter.

This initial problem didn't however spoil our holiday as the hotel really is beautiful and the choice of sun bed areas around the pool all have lovely outlooks of palm trees and greenery. We quite happily spent every day pool side and the kids had a fantastic time in the numerous, very child friendly swimming pools.

We were spoilt for choice with the breakfast and evening buffet, although I'm sure we would have been a bit tired of the same salad/pasta dishes if we had stayed on for a second week.

The kids' club caters for children from the ages of four years. Our two thoroughly enjoyed themselves, although I was a bit concerned about the not having a signing in/out system and where you could be located in the hotel in case of emergencies - maybe something I should have raised with the hotel.

Overall, it was a lovely, relaxing week's break. We would definitely consider returning, although would check which floor the room was situated on first prior to arriving at the hotel.

HaHaving just come back home (to rain and more rain), I felt I had to write a review on our lovely holiday. The Maspalomas Princess Hotel was in our eyes exceptional! The rooms were clean and well maintained. The public areas like the bars and function rooms were great. There was something there for everyone, young and old. The staff were always helpful and polite. The Thomson reps were always on hand to help if needed. My daughter needed medical treatment and the doctor was very nice and put her at ease.

Anyone wishing to try this hotel all I can say is - do. We did not want to come home! Myself and husband hope to return to the Maspalomas Princess later in the year and I am sure it will be visited by our family again and again. There was as little or as much as you wanted to do with regard to night life and entertainment. Maspalomas has it all - so if you are a family or a couple wanting a holiday, Maspalomas Princess is definitely the place to try. I would like to thank all at Thomson and The Maspalomas Princess Hotel for a truly lovely holiday.
