The five star Barceló Montecastillo Resort Hotel is located in the celebrated town of Jerez de la Frontera (near the Formula One race track) in the province of Cádiz. It is just ten minutes from the town centre.

Facilities at the hotel include a golf course, spa with heated indoor pool, jacuzzi, stream and dry sauna, gym, hydrotherapy room, Vichy shower, hydro massage bath and four treatment rooms. This Barcelo hotel also features two outdoor swimming pools, two international-regulation size football grounds, jogging track, multi sports athletic track, tennis court, four paddle courts with floodlighting, 16 halls for events, exhibition gallery, rooms for private banquets and three restaurants.

The hotel's 18-hole par-72 course was designed by Jack Nicklaus. The length of the course is 6,456 metres from the white tees and 6,043 from the yellow tees. The requisite handicap is 28 for gentlemen and 36 for ladies. This golf course was the Volvo Masters headquarters for five years running (from 1997 to 2001), and it was also the venue for the final of the Peugeot Tour for three years running (from 2001 to 2003). The golf club has many services to offer: club and trolley hire, GPS-equipped buggies, a golf school (with a resident teacher), a practice area with 75 metres indoors and 3,000 square metres of grass, plus a putting green and chipping green. The golf club also has dressing rooms with a sauna, a golf shop, a club house and a commercial course with tournament organisation. There is also a private golf academy in the club, with a club house featuring a lounge, kitchen and toilets and a sand bunker.

The Barceló Montecastillo Resort has 170 rooms (147 double, five single, 11 superior, five junior suites and two suites). All rooms have a bathroom, hair dryer, satellite television, telephone and air conditioning. The hotel also has 38 villas (16 villas with one bedroom and 22 villas with two bedrooms). In addition to the facilities listed above, the villas also feature a living/dining room and kitchen with refrigerator.
