We originally booked ten nights at the Stella Dunas which we were told was a four star hotel. After research, we discovered that there was more than one hotel in the resort, the Dunas Paradise which was the four star and Stella Dunas was three star.

On arrival, we were dropped at the Paradise reception and enquired about upgrading to this four star hotel. They were very happy to put us up straight away for the ten nights for an additional charge of 15 euros a night.

The hotel was lovely, very clean and modern. The staff were also very friendly and happy to help with any queries. Our room was enormous and we had our own private balcony with a sea view.

The resort itself is enormous and I still don't think after ten days of exploring we even got near to seeing it all. There are six swimming pools to choose from, all with pool bars. The resort is set in a mass of palm trees and there is a long road which leads to the beach, which takes about five to ten minutes from the Dunas Paradise but is all within the resort. There is a zoo also in the resort, but this was closed during our stay.

The entertainment was fantastic, with a different show on every night, except Saturdays, all of which were great fun. We saw shows such as 'Grease' and 'We Will Rock You', all with their own individual twist. There was also plenty to do in the day - everything from aqua aerobics to darts and Spanish lessons.

The food was also good, with a wide variety on offer. It changed on a daily basis and had a selection of more luxurious foods including king prawns, mussels and squid etc.

Jandia is very close and there is a range of restaurants, bars and shops, including 'Next' and 'Gap'! There is also a local market every Thursday! Be warned, the items in the shops may actually be cheaper than those in the market!

All in all a really good holiday. Reading other reviews there seems to be lots of people moaning about the size of the resort, but it clearly states the size on website and if people don't want to walk then there is a train which runs round the entire resort until 7.30 p.m.!

A fab holiday and would definately recommend a visit!

Have just returned from Dunas hotel. The hotel is great - rooms large, air conditioned, bed changed every three days and towels daily.

Food in restaurant and snack bar cold. I ate lots of salad and if we wanted hot food we ate out restaurants in Jandia. Great, but as we paid all inclusive did not expect to eat out. Staff not interested in complaints about food.

If you wanted to see entertainment, this was held in bar 'Africano' about seven minutes walk from hotel.

The hotel part of Dunas complex's dining room was shared with villas.

Many nationalities visited this hotel and all very friendly.

Summing up, very relaxed holiday, lovely beaches and resort but have complained to Airtours as food definitely not four star - big disappointment. Definitely not for anyone with walking disability as lots of steps and steep hills.
