"TRH Torrenova"

The TRH Torrenova room was dated but acceptable considering the price. Pool was the coldest water I have ever stepped foot in and the sea was a lot warmer. Hotel staff were as miserable as sin, even though this was the last week of the season for them. I had read the reviews about thieving and decided these incidents were one offs. So, I can only blame myself for not hiring the safe, although I would not have fitted my 501s and North Face jacket in the safe. My sons PSP games were stolen from a locked suitcase, which had had the locks smashed open. There was no sign of a break-in. Hotel reception tried to tell us that there had never been a report of break-in before this at this hotel. They were not interested at all. The manageress couldn't even be bothered to see us. Apparently she was in the other TRH hotel nearby and wouldn't be available until after we had left Majorca.
The police were informed and made a visit to the hotel. They also said that when they spoke to the hotel, the staff were not interested. The policemen and the translator were very helpful. We were at the guardia civil station for about an hour in total.
A shame to end our break like this, as the break had been lovely up until this point, with great sea views.
Beware of the hill up to the hotel - very steep.

"Most Enjoyable Hotel"

Spent ten days at the Torrenova. Great views from the apartments, which were spacious and kept clean. Most staff were friendly and the breakfasts were alright.
The pool area was spotless and well maintained but the beds could do with some cushions - not very comfortable as they are. Would definitely stay at the Torrenova again. Not suitable for those with walking difficulties as a rather steep hill leading to the hotel.

"Rubbish"

Do not stay in the TRH Torrenova hotel. Me and my two companions were on a stag do. After five hours into the holiday, our money was stolen out of our room. Over one and a half thousand euros out of a locked suitcase. There was no sign of forced entry. Sounds like an inside job. You might say it's our fault for not putting it not in a safety box but you don't expect some one to pick the padlock on your suitcase - the room should be safe enough. And the staff can not be bothered and were not interested in the situation whatsoever and they were very stuck up. The manager did not want to speak to us - she was too busy. So think twice staying here.

"Good Value For Money"

After reading the reviews on this site, I was a little wary of staying in this hotel. But I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. The view from the pool area and 90 per cent of the rooms is absolutely stunning, the pool is very big with lots of sunbeds and there is no problem with getting a sun bed at any time of the day.
The pool bar food and drinks are quite expensive and the the staff are pretty ignorant, so I advise just going over the road to the shop for a snack. We had absolutely no problem with the life guard or the pool area, we were allowed lilos, balls etc and didn't see anyone being spoken to by the lifeguard, even though we were quite silly in the pool most days!
I would also recommend going down to the cliff area (down the steps at the pool) as it is lovely and peaceful and there is space for jumping and swimming in the sea (if you dare).
The reception staff are friendly and speak good English, it seems that nearly all the rooms (because of the shape of the building) have a sea view. If you do not get one then I would complain because the view is just fantastic. The rooms were a good size and had all the basic requirements. The one complaint I have is that the rooms are not cleaned that well and it really lets this hotel down. We had to ask for clean towels after three days and it seemed the only cleaning done was beds made and floors mopped.
We went as three families (eight adults and four children) and we found this to be a pleasant environment for the children. Yes, there were groups of young people but these never caused any problems for us. The hotel is a real mix of families, groups and couples.
The hotel is not far from Magaluf beach, which is a lovely beach (nicer than Palma Nova beach). The hotel is in a peaceful area but is on a steep hill, but I was more than happy to be situated on it as the views compensated for the hill. If you turn right from the front of the hotel you can get a much less steep walk into Palma Nova, but I'm afraid if you want to go to Magaluf you have got to go left from the hotel, which means walking down 'the hill'
I would recommend the TRH Torrenova hotel to anyone who wants a basic three star hotel, but with good pool and sea views, but be aware the hotel is probably located more in the Magaluf area than Palma Nova. It is a five minute walk to the edge of Palma Nova, it is another 10-15 minute walk into the centre of Palma Nova.

"TRH Torrenova - No Sleep"
Travel date:

Stayed for I week on 18/06/07. Apartment was OK..Sea view was very good. Hot water all day every day, beds comfortable, plenty of storage, cooking facilities minimal but every thing there (kettle toaster etc.), air conditioning in living room only, could have done with it in bedroom. Minimal parking outside hotel (be careful, yellow lines have been painted over, some have not - we got parking ticket, hire car of course, locals did not. Thanks Calvia town hall!)
This hotel was very noisy. We complained to reception seven times and asked to be moved. We were flatly refused twice. They stated all hotels were the same and anyhow they were full?

These were great apartments in a very lively and busy area. here was a range of age groups staying here and families. The only problem we had was groups coming and going at all times of the night and the noise was horrendous. We literally never got any sleep at all. It must have been especially bad for families with children. I have no problem with what time people come in having done the same thing myself over the years but there should be someone in charge during the night to ask people to keep the noise down when they do actually come in.
