My partner and I have just had a wonderful two weeks at the Santa Monica and we were very satisfied. The food was excellent and the staff and bar staff and cleaners were all very friendly and pleasant.

The rooms are very comfy as were the beds. Shower and bath was good but other people had problems. Our only complaint (minor one) was the carpets outside the rooms - they really need replacing. Other than that all is well.

The hotel is very clean and pool area very good. Just couldn't get English telly and the children behaved very well and were well entertained. Hats off to the entertainers. Thank you all. We definitely will be going back.

The hotel is in need of refurbishment. The rooms are comfortable, as are the beds, but the bathrooms could do with a revamp (doors showing signs of water damage, showers that do not fix on the wall, etc).

The carpets in the hallways are very tired and no amount of vacuming seems to clear the debris from them.

With the current no smoking rules, it was very disappointing to find our no smoking room adjoining one which obviously was not (connecting doors between rooms) with smoke coming under the door.

The biggest disappointment was the dining facilities, which are cramped to say the least. This is a shame as the food quality is excellent given the turnover in the dining area.

The Santa Monica is ideally placed for the beach which is ideal, as the hotel pool area is small and crammed with sunbeds, which causes problems for non-smokers.
