"Santa Susana Resort Is Rubbish"

Plug socket hanging off the wall and it took six days to be repaired. Video to prove this. To turn on the bathroom light, you had to flick the switch then hit the light with a tub of shower gel. Video to prove.
Whenever you spoke to a member of staff, they just turned up their nose at you. They were so rude and unhelpful. If they don't like their job, they should find another that they do like.
All inclusive? Yeah, right. The food is awesome for a pig farm. We had a family of six and spent an additional £700 eating out for the week.
The only people there I will give full 100 per cent credit to is the cleaners. They were the only staff that did their job with passion and were always polite and went out of their way to help you if they could.
Far too many people for the size of the hotel. Jean and Patrick was the only daytime entertainment and they really did the best they could. Fair play lads, you might get to work in a proper hotel next season that deserves your efforts. We will never return to the Santa Susana Resort.

The Santa Susana Resort is a very nice hotel. The food is also nice. The rooms in the hotel are very small and the people are OK but not that helpful.

"Santa Susana Resort Hotel Is A Nice Hotel"

Went to Santa Susana Resort hotel on 30th March 2008, for one week. Having read some of the reviews about the place, I was very worried about what it would be like.
It was just me and the wife. The hotel is very clean, with fresh towels everyday. Staff are very friendly and polite and food is OK with lots to choose from and is fresh. Not much in the way of entertainment at night, as most things were not open yet.
Very good bus service to town and beach, which is free. It is only about five minutes, but it is a pleasant walk. The beach is lovely and clean with some good beach bars along the front. The town is very clean and tidy. Worth getting the train to Barcelona - it takes about an hour and costs six euros each.
Overall we had a good holiday. Just one gripe and that is the kids running riot all hours of the night. When will British parents learn to control their children? So go and enjoy your holiday.

"Great Time"

I was a little worried after reading some of the reviews but I can say hand on heart that we had a great time at Santa Susanna. The entertainment could have been better but the food was excellent and the staff lovely.
The rooms were sparkling and cleaned every day. We went as two families, both with a small child each and there could have been a bit more in the evening for them but a great time was had by all and as the weather was a little changeable, it could have been bad but no, it was fab.
The water park is well worth the trip and you can get a train to Barcelona for a few pounds return.
We met loads of great friends and had a fab time. Would definitely go back again.

"Brill!"

Me, my gran, my sister and my brother went and loved every bit of it. At night there were parrot shows, belly dancers karaoke and lots more. Me and my sister went downstairs most nights because there was always either a comedy show on or a film and there is also a bar down there which is handy!
The staff were lovely and were always making jokes and making you cheery. There were lots of computers where you put a euro in and got eight minutes. The more minutes depends on the money you put in..
The town was only a five minute walk so we walked and if you're older and don't want to walk about in to town, there is a shopping centre just two minutes next to the hotel.
The rooms are great and airy so you don't really need air conditioning.
There are buses and trains coming all hours so if you want to get away to 'Marineland' or somewhere you only have to step outside the hotel. There is also a snack bar outside where you can go and there is a sauna next to the pool!
There are also aerobics in the pool and out so if you're conscious about your weight even though you're on holiday, you could go there and the woman Mika who takes it is really lovely and friendly. Everyone in my family apart form my brother who thought the guys would laugh at him went there and there is also darts.
It was my brother's birthday and we wanted to get out for something to eat and we discovered a Mcdonalds just five minutes down the road next to the hotel. It was brill and tasted as good at it does at home. There is only one thing I can complain about and that is the milk but in saying that, I don't like the milk anywhere when I go on holiday!
The Santa Susana Resort hotel is beautiful and I would suggest you go there. It is the best hotel we have been to and I really wish we could go back, that's how great it is!

"Not Bad For What You Pay "
Travel date:

Myself, 22 and husband, 24 travelled to the Costa Brava Santa Susana with son three and baby 13 weeks old from October 12th 2006. Stayed for a week. By day four we were very bored.
Hotel is clean, staff friendly, food - oh my goodness, don't go there. It was cold and tasted yuk. We had to eat out! Swimming pool is ice cold.
Excursions – Marineland is a good day out. Market – well, this cost a fair bit and I was expecting jewellery, pottery and handbags etc but turned out to be live stock - chickens, puppies and rabbits. An experience I wouldn't like to do again! (a bit upsetting).
There is a tiny shop in the hotel and a laundry room costing four euros to wash and three euros to dry (not bad)!
Entertainment was rubbish. Very boring. The main town is five minute ride on the bus but the beach is stony. However, it is a nice beach.
Very disappointing that the hotel is in the middle of nowhere and on a main road.
There is a games room for kids.
Would I come back? No, sorry, but not for us! As I said in my title, OK for a cheap holiday but I'd rather spend a bit extra and go somewhere nice.

I have given this hotel a one rating, only because it didn't have a zero. I have just arrived back today. The hotel was dirty; the food was terrible (we had to eat out). The entertainment was non-existent. No air conditioning, you could hire fans though (great, eh).
The staff, apart from the reception staff, were all doom and gloom. I could go on and on forever about this hotel, but the best advice I can give you, is: Don't go there!

Booked late. Arrived from airport by taxi at just midnight. Got a last gasp all inclusive drink. Woke up in the morning to discover we were staying in an old converted motorway services. You can't cross the road outside for volume of traffic.
The real name of the hotel is the Heidelburg and caters for German tourists. The main bar is dark gloomy and smoky. Our room was under the swimming pool.
We spent the whole week on the Barcelona express which runs through the resort looking for a good day out. Be warned.

My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel for one week, all inclusive. The hotel is clean and staff are friendly. The food was excellent and there was plenty of choice for vegetarians. Being all inclusive, although the alcoholic drinks were not brand names, the measures were huge, especially the vodka!
The only down side to the holiday was the fact that the hotel was swarming with children and it was not possible to get anywhere near the pool. We managed to find a quiet area on the grass behind the hotel where we could sunbathe without being surrounded by excited kids. The beach is quite a hike.
Whilst we were there, there was a spate of burgularies through the balcony doors. Some people had left them open at night and had then lost valuables whilst they were sleeping. Fortuately we always locked our balcony door.
This hotel is to be recommended for families espcially but I would not go again as a couple looking for some peace and quiet.
These opinions are those of HotelStreet visitors and not of HotelStreet.
