The four star Playacartaya Hotel is situated in a natural park surrounded by 12,000 square hectares of pine trees with access through a tunnel to the beach which is 150 metres from the hotel. From there, there is a boat service (at a special price for hotel guests) to the beaches of 'La Flecha', situated in the protected nature park, where there is a nudist beach.

The hotel has 290 bedrooms including double rooms with twin beds, bathroom with bath, shower cabin and hair dryer, satellite television, telephone, mini-bar, air conditioning, central heating, ceiling fan, safety deposit box (at an extra charge) and a balcony or terrace (the majority of rooms have a sea view). It is also possible to reserve communicating double rooms for families. Family and junior suites all have a sea view, a bedroom with double bed and round bath incorporated in to the bedroom, living area with sofa beds (family suites), bathroom with shower cabin and hair dryer, dressing area with iron, bath robes, kitchenette, satellite television, telephone, mini-bar, air conditioning, central heating, ceiling fan and balcony or terrace.

Facilities at the Playacartaya include two restaurants – 'Río Piedra' y 'Las Marismas', (buffet with show-cooking and buffet for children in 'Las Marismas'), drinks bar in the reception area, theatre bar, 'Al-Andalus' pub and a beach club (open in peak season). The hotel also features an outdoor themed pool with water slides and whirlpool and area for sunbathing, indoor pool (closed from 16/06 to 15/09), daily and nightly entertainment programme, mini-club 'Delfin Playa' (open from 01.06 to the 30.09), games area offering bowls, gigantic chess, shuffle board, mini-golf, archery and rifle shooting, gymnasium, naturist sunbathing terrace, mini casino and reading room.
