Just returned from two weeks at the Sal y Mar bungalows. They are absolutely superb. The cleanliness is first class and the position of them is excellent for the restaurants and the sea. The bungalows are cleaned every day and nothing is too much trouble. Very impressed and can't wait to go again.

Our family stayed here over the Christmas week. There were five of us altogether in the two bed bungalows. Upon arriving at about 8.30 p.m., there was no-one at reception, as this is open from 9.00 a.m. until 1.00 p.m. only. There was a family that arrived after about half an hour. They were extremely helpful and had the owners' phone number as they booked direct, so after speaking to a couple of people we got our room a couple of hours after we arrived.

The rooms were very clean, but basic. This wasn't a problem as we tend to eat out. The rooms were cleaned every morning, with clean towels and toilet rolls supplied daily, but on the last two days we were not left any towels at all, so had to use the beach towels we took with us. Every night five of us had to bath in four or five inches of water because after that the water was cold. There is also a storage room that runs underneath these bungalows, so from around 7.45 a.m. there was a constant dragging sound from furniture being moved about, which was a real pain.

The resort of Matagorda has a shopping area just across the road with everything you need - bars, restruants, shops and this is ideal. We never ventured out of Matagorda as everything you need is right there. We did find the people very friendly which does make your stay even better.
