"Acuario Sol Great Value!"
Travel date:
April 2009
Hi there. I stayed at the Acuario Sol I apartments for one week - 9th April - with my daughter and nine year old granddaughter. The apartment was spotless on our arrival and the maid service was fantastic throughout the week we were there.
The cooking facilities were basic - two ring electric hob - but I managed to cook a perfect curry and it was appropriate for our needs. We were on our hols and were not into any big cooking!
The whole complex was very clean and we felt safe - even though I was a little apprehensive as I had read that some of the reviews mentioned burglaries and dirty accommodation! We did not see any of this.
There were two sites and we were able to use both of these although we did not take full advantage of this much whilst there. The beach, shops and night life are all in easy walking distance and it is great for families or couples alike. I would recommend this to anyone who is not looking for five star accommodation but if you like clean and easy walking distance to all amenities, this is the place for you!

"Enjoyed Acuario Sol II"
Travel date:
February 2007
Stayed here in February 2007 and have booked to go back February 2008. Acuario Sol is a pretty apartment block, well cared for. Nice room, basic.
Just a short walk down to main street, good location.
Love Puerto del Carmen, very clean and pretty. Loads of places to eat out at night, spoilt for choice. Good food and very reasonable. Must visit harbour and Biosphere shopping centre!
Only downside with apartment is that you have to hire kettle, toaster etc as do not come as standard.
Just a great place to come for a chilled out relaxing week in the sun! Can't beat winter sunshine!

"Family Holiday"

Stayed at the Acuario Sol II Apartments for two weeks with ten family members in the party. Arrived after a five hour delay at Humberside airport, only to be transferred to Manchester. We were a bit stressed out when we arrived. Reception staff not very helpful with directions to the apartments because reception is in Acuario I, a five minute walk up hill with luggage.
Barry in the pool bar more helpful than reception staff. After calming down and distressing, everything was fine. The only problem with the apartments is that you don't get what you request. Be careful if you're taking young children because the balconies have an open staircase and there is no way of keeping small children in and safe. After a small discussion with reception, we got moved to a lower floor room. Still have to watch young children at all times. Watch out for the stray cats.
Food in ‘Suzie's' bar is highly recommended. We ate there every day. Barry very helpful and makes a brill coffee. Hope you enjoy your stay.
