"Santa Rosa Apartments Great - Costa Teguise Not!"
Travel date:

I have just returned from the Santa Rosa apartments after a two week Christmas break with my husband and a couple of friends. I could not fault the apartment which was extremely spacious and consisted of two levels with a dining area and fully fitted kitchen. The apartment was spotlessly clean and consisted of a cooker, fridge and microwave. Towels were changed nearly every day and sheets at least twice a week. There was a TV in the apartment which could receive about 15 channels, although some of these were in Spanish.
Our friends, however, were housed in a smaller studio apartment which was overlooking a half finished hotel. To be fair, however, it was clean and compact and had a pretty 'gardened' area to the front of the apartment.
Costa Teguise itself was a disappointment. There were about three or four bars just around the corner from the apartment and these were friendly and welcoming. 'Steptoe's' provided quizzes and live music as did 'Cheers' and a couple of others. You could get a good breakfast at 'Steptoe's' for approximately three euros and this included orange juice.
The weather was cloudy and rainy at the time of our stay so the trek into town seemed long and the town itself is small and compact with a cluster of bars overlooking the bay, so after a few days treking back and forward we found ourselves bored.
You can catch a bus into Puerto del Carmen for about three euros and this resort provides everything for those who enjoy more hustle and bustle and a much better variation of entertainment.
Christmas celebrations were low key but 'Steptoe's' gave us a lovely Christmas Eve party and a free buffet and the entertainment here was excellent.
Overall however, I found Costa Tequise to be the worst resort I have ever visited. It is barren and 'man made' and the outskirts of the area are similar. Everywhere we visited had areas of volcanic ash for surfaces (even the children's play areas)and there was nothing that would provide a memorable setting or memory.
However, for those who prefer a very quiet holiday, I cannot fault its cleanliness or hospitality and the Santa Rosa apartments would rate ten out of ten.

"Santa Rosa"

My husband celebrated his 70th birthday in this complex along with our two children, son in law and two grand daughters. We had two one bedroom apartments and a two bedroomed apartment, but we went there as we are holiday property bond owners.
We really cannot fault the site. Everyone so friendly. The pools were delightful and a lovely setting. We were not keen on the restaurant on site, but you only had to go through the hotel doors and there were an abundance of eating places to the right of the building, from traditional British food to tapas restaurants. Absolutely delightful, I would most definitely go there again.
Only 20 minutes from airport and even travelling from the UK at seven in the morning, we were at the pool by midday. Tremendous. We went at the start of their summer season which was first week in May so it was not overcrowded and everyone was so very friendly. My son is looking to return to the Santa Rosa at the end of the year.

"Excellent Location, Clean Modern Complex"
Travel date:

I booked these apartments only three days before my holiday (11th-18th October) and was delighted with the accommodation, particularly for the cheap price I had paid.
I must say I was very impressed with the Santa Rosa complex and would definitely stay there again and recommend it to others.
They are situated a 15 minute walk to central Costa Teguise. However, you can walk on the main road, a cut through a residential area or along the sea front.
I had a one bedroom apartment which I found to be clean, although basic. I would recommend you take more coat hangers with you and also a kettle as one is not provided, although you can hire kettles, toasters and fans at reception area. There are no fans or air conditioning, so I would imagine it would be extremely hot in the high season. There was a television that had four English channels, a fridge, microwave, hob and all kitchen utensils.
I was on a self catering basis so cannot comment on food, although people I spoke to said it was very basic and there was no ambience in the dining room. There are many restaurants and places to eat/drink a couple of minutes away, so I would recommend you do that instead.
The pool was large and not too deep, which is great, if like me, you cannot swim out of your depth. There is also a small pool for children.
The entertainment was a disappointment. They did advertise bingo, dancing, karaoke, although the numbers were few and far between. I spent my evenings at the four star hotel opposite (Corona Playas). This was excellent and again would recommend this for those of you whom prefer hotels.
The weather was very hot whilst there - 27-28 degrees. There is a slight wind, but you definitely don't need to pack jumpers or anything like that.
I had booked this last minute and not expected much at all. I was very pleasantly surprised both with Costa Teguise and the Santa Rosa Apartments.
