The five star Hotel Meliá Mérida is located within two emblematic buildings in the historical centre of the city of Mérida in the Spanish region of Extremadura. The Palacio de Los Pacheco was built in 1802 and has hosted such guests as Queen Isabel II and her husband Francisco de Asís in 1879, King Alfonso XII in 1875 or King Alfonso XIII in 1905. The second building, the Palacio de Los Mendoza, an ancient Medieval resting place built on the foundations of a Roman construction, has been home to the Hotel Emperatriz since 1960.
