The three star Punta del Mar Hotel in Santa Ponsa is situated only 20 kilometres from Palma and is set on a rocky headland with views over Santa Ponsa bay. The hotel is close to shops and entertainment and is less than one kilometre from the centre of Santa Ponsa and the main beach.
The Punta del Mar was built in 1988 and hotel facilities include a buffet restaurant and bar, split level outdoor swimming pool overlooking Santa Ponsa bay, children's pool, heated indoor swimming pool (from March to May only), sun terrace, café, sauna (at an extra cost), television lounge, safety deposit box (at an extra charge), free cots and high chairs, daytime and evening entertainment, money exchange, luggage room, pool table, table tennis, volleyball and bicycle hire (for an extra charge).
The hotel's rooms are on seven floors and each of the 186 rooms has a bathroom, air conditioning, terrace or balcony, satellite television (at an extra charge) and telephone. All rooms have a sea view.
Board basis available at this hotel is self catering, half board or full board.

On arrival at the Punta del Mar the receptionist at that time was Alec and he made us very welcome, offering assistance where he could.
The room my wife and I were given was in a very good order and location, over the two weeks we found the meals to be well above standard - ten out of ten. All the staff were brill. I must say our cleaning lady was a gem and she went out her way to keep every thing in good order (thank you). It's a great place to stay
