The four star Mercure Berlin Checkpoint Charlie Hotel is located in the both historic and new centre of Berlin, 500 metres from Friedrichstrasse, Gendarmenmarkt, Checkpoint Charlie and one kilometre from Potsdamer Platz.

My wife and I stayed here for three nights. It was my first time in Berlin and this hotel exceeded my expectations. I read a lot of positive reviews for the Mercure Checkpoint Charlie before booking and I am very glad we booked this hotel.
Location in excellent, just off Friedrichstrasse and a couple of minutes from the nearest tube (U-Bahn). Five minutes to Starbucks, Kamps, shopping etc. Free internet access at reception was handy. Staff were pleasant and efficient. We didn't use the facilities at the hotel like the sauna etc and we never made it down to breakfast either.
The non-smoking room was very large with a television, huge double bed (two single mattresses together), a seating area and desk. Shower room with heated floor and a separate toilet. Hotel décor was modern and everything was immaculate.
If I had to pick fault, it would only be that there were no tea/coffee facilities in the room.
