The two key Esmeralda Apartments are near to the Levante beach, one kilometre from the centre of Calpe on the Costa Blanca, about 80 kilometres from Alicante Airport, and 24 kilometres north east of Benidorm.
The accommodation, at the Esmeralda complex, which was built in 1991, comprises a number of one or two bedroom apartments, each having a private bathroom, a lounge with sofa bed, a kitchenette and a terrace, and being equipped with television. The bed linen and towels are changed weekly and the apartments are cleaned at the beginning and end of the stay. Extra cleaning and laundry facilities are available at an extra charge.
The facilities, at the apartments, include reception and two swimming pools and a children's pool.
Board basis available at these apartments is self catering.

Just had a week's break in a two bedroom apartment. Quite a long drive from Alicante airport, so we were glad of a hire car to avoid very expensive transfers.
Apartment itself basic, but clean and well equipped and with excellent position right on the beach front promenade. There was free parking in the streets around the hotel. Staff are friendly and most speak good English, but no entertainment or tour information and the Esmeralda seemed to be mostly catering for Dutch and Germans.
Out of season the resort was ideal for a laid back break, with lots of cafes and restaurants nearby. However, having a car to explore further afield was very welcome.
P.S. We flew from Newquay (Ryanair - excellent), where parking cost a hefty £45 per week, plus we each got ripped off a further £10 for a compulsory 'airport development fee'.
