My family and I have just stayed at the Velazquez apartments again for the third time. The views are sensational, apartments immaculate and cleaned on a daily basis and location fab. In the middle of Puerto del Carmen, however, you only hear the peace and tranquillity of the sea. Great location for beach, shops and resturants. Will be going again and can't wait. It's the place to go whether you have a young family or, like myself, want to get away from the hustle and bustle of life in the UK.

Stayed at the Velazquez apartments for one week during June, with four young girls (aged 22). Apartments are lovely and quiet. No tacky music by the pool. They are extremely clean. Saw the cleaners clean the apartments and they spent hours cleaning them - even washed down the plastic patio chairs!

The pools are quite small but still very nice. Never had a problem getting a sun bed and never crowded around the pool. Only downside, was no bar. This wasn't even a big deal because the apartments were in an ideal location. They were situated in the centre of the resort. However they were down some steps so away from the noise of music and clubs etc. The view from our apartment was lovely - right on the seafront. Didn't go to the beach much. It's a golden sandy, long beach.

Night life was good for youngsters - plenty of bars and clubs. The reception was open at certain times of the day and they were very friendly and helpful. You have to pay a safety deposit on arrival. However, I think this is good idea.
Apartments were huge - two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Very well equipped with tea towels and washing up liquid etc. Modern furnishings and lovely private balconies. Our balcony backed onto the children's pool (apartment number one. No screaming kids by the pool (all very well behaved) - absolute bliss! Gardens well kept.

The resort itself is ideal for all ages - old, young, families and couples. Plenty of shops, day trips, lovely marina. Cheap food too. Overall, a fantastic holiday. Definitely four star!

Me and my husband have been to Lanzarote nine times in March and December. We always try different places to stay. As the Velaquez apartments are right on the main road, we weren't sure about the noise but we thought we would give them a try.

Very expensive just for self catering but the view was out of this world, My husband thought he had gone to heaven. We stayed in room 32, which we would ask for again next March. We could not fault the rooms at all. Very clean and towels changed every day. The only problem I had was there was no bath.

Just be aware you have to pay a deposit of 150 euros. We weren't told about that by the travel agents. I had only 50 euros on me the day we got there, so I had to pay £100 in English money. You get it back the day you check out, as long as nothing is broken, as they come and check, before they give you your deposit back. Otherwise these apartments are the best.

These bungalows are exceptional. Furnishings and contents of very high standard. Cleanliness of high standard. Location ideal particularly having baby in pram. Beautiful outlook and peaceful. We had 2 bedroom bungalow overlooking the pool. Would certainly recommend the Velazquez apartments and hope to return.

Excellent apartments and location. Lots of shops, restaurants and bars. Big apartment. Just had to walk down white steps to beach, a rocky one and not far to sandy part.

Friendly staff, so clean, two bathrooms was brilliant, cleaned every day. Just loved it.

One trip around island and saw what we wanted to. Would go back again to the Velazquez.

We stayed in these apartments last July 2007 and have booked to go again this year. We have three small children (three to eight years) and they all had a fantastic time. Even though the pool area is quiet, there is no kids club or pool bar, they had a great time meeting other kids there.

There's a little rocky cove just a few steps away which was great for catching little fish. The tide went out in the evening and then there was a small beach. Close to everything including the beach (about a ten minute walk) and a very cheap short taxi ride away from the old port.

The staff there were very nice and the apartments spotless. Cleaning everyday but Mondays. We had a two bedroom apartment which had two shower rooms. Great for large families.

The only downside was the pool is a little on the deep side for the little ones but we strapped on the arm bands etc. and they were fine.

The air conditioning was a great plus in every room. After a few terrible holidays abroad in other places, I would definitely recommend the Velazquez apartments.

We have stayed at the Velazquez six times now and have booked to go again this year. We have been going to Lanzarote for years now and these apartments are easily the best we have stayed in. You can't beat the view out to sea and it's so peaceful there, even though you are in the middle of the resort.

The reception staff are lovely and friendly, the apartments are always spotless and maid service is excellent. We would recommend the Velazquez to anyone.

We stayed on the quieter end of the complex, away from the pool. Lovely sea views with palm trees and cactus, straight to the sea from our bungalow veranda. Although the hustle and bustle of the night life was behind the bungalow, we could just hear the sea as we went to bed.

The staff were very helpful and friendly and the location in the resort was good to get to everything. The pool was good too. Although self catering, we got caught out with getting pizza and no way to cook it, since there is only a simple hob and microwave!

We would certainly like to return for another holiday at this location, well recommended.

We had one of the best holidays at these apartments. We had a two bedroom bungalow which opened on to a patio with a path down to the sea on to a rocky beach. We could hear the sea at night which was lovely. The bungalow was spotless and beautifully appointed with a six day maid service. The resort was only up a few steps to all the bars and restaurants. All in all we would recommend this holiday to our friends with confidence.

My family and I went to the Velazquez apartments a few years ago and I have to say it has been one of the best holidays I have ever been on. The view was fabulous and the apartments were too. They were very clean and right next to the beach.

The only complaint I have is about the pool. It was a bit on the deep side going up to two metres and not that clean (even though it was cleaned very well every morning but I'd say the uncleansed bit was only uncleansed because it was the autumn months and leaves were falling off the trees). I wouldn't advised this to elderly people as much for there were quite a few steps going up and down.

I really enjoyed my stay and am planning to go there again. The receptionist was very nice and spoke good English and the rep. or tour guide was excellent and was there at the apartments all the time for your help. I hope future Velazquez stayers have a lovely time. I know that I did.
