Just back from staying in the Flamingo Playa apartments with my family. Had a fab time and the staff were great. Manolo and Pepa on reception couldn't have been more helpful and Roque in the bar was always smiling and eager to please.

Pool area right by the bar so very handy and the entertainment, although basic, was enjoyable and close to main area of Benidorm if you fancied something different.

Nice size rooms and kept really clean by the girls. Will definitely be returning in the future.

Bed linen changed once in the two weeks we were there. Towels changes three times. Sun beds 1.50 euros, air con 3.00 euros and leaks water. Stones thrown from above by teens when you sat outside the pool bar area. Lifts rarely all work. No kids' club and no day or night time entertainment. No rep on site - you had to go to another hotel to see her. Only one block of apartments and pool different to brochure picture. Would describe the Flamingo Playa as an Club 18-30 hotel.

Review title: "Flamingo Playa - Fab!"

Just returned from the Flamingo Playa Hotel in Benidorm. I was just for a week with my husband, 17 year old son and 13 year old daughter. We found the hotel was just what we wanted for a 'little getaway'.

The rooms are basic but have all you need. They feel clean and spacious and have a very well equipped kitchen with large fridge/freezer. We stayed self catering but you can also stay fully inclusive and this links up to the sister hotel, Flamingo Benidorm, just across the road. We went in there a few times during the day and night.

Sunbeds at the Flamingo Playa are 1.50 euros a day and are well worth it - they are very comfy! The beach is about ten to 15 minutes walk away and is lovely. The bars, cafes, clubs and restaurants are five minutes walk away, but far enough away to get some sleep when you've had enough.

English chippy, the 'Codfather', was brill for us Brits and nicely priced too. Lots of stag dos and hen parties were in the centre, but didn't have any hassle from them.

There are two skyscraper hotels being built outside the hotel but it was not a problem. We had a really good holiday. The only drawback was the transfer price of a taxi was 74 euros each way, so try and sort out a better way of transport before you go.

The Flamingo Playa apartments are very clean and spacious - large fridge and cooker. Bit set back from the night life but not a bad thing really - A++++.

Review title: "An Enjoyable Holiday"
Travel date: August 2007
Have recently returned from a week long stay at the Flamingo Playa with my two teenage children. I was quite worried before we left having read some negative reviews about the apartments but these were unfounded.

The apartments have apparently been refurbished recently and the kitchen area looked newly fitted. I was pleased to find that both air conditioning and a shower were available as these had not been advertised and I think this was a recent addition (there is a charge of three euros per day and a 20 euro deposit for air conditioning). I would urge caution when using the shower as the temperature was inconsistent.
The apartment was clean and the sheets were changed mid way through our stay and the towels were changed twice.

The staff were not the most friendly but the impression I got was that it was more of a language barrier than rudeness.

We went all inclusive which meant a short walk to the Flamingo Benidorm hotel for food and drinks. I was pleased that we were staying in the Flamingo Playa though as the Flamingo Benidorm was a lot busier and noisier. The food was good and there was a good choice.

The only thing that spoilt the holiday was when another guest told us that she had been mugged when walking from one hotel to the other and was told that this was a regular occurrence and this made us feel nervous.

Having stayed at the Flamingo Playa I would recommend it to others and would return in the future.

The Flamingo Playa Apartments are a good base for a holiday in Benidorm. They are situated a good walk away from the centre and all the noise, but a nice walk in the evenings. The apartments have a shop on site which is convenient but it was very expensive. The two pools are great and the children's pools ideal. Not too happy to have to pay 1.50 euros for a sun bed though, and no umbrellas available.

The apartments are clean but small, had all that we required though. If you are a family it is better to be based in the main block of the apartments as the groups of teens are all based in the second building and they can be very noisy. Entertainment was great and pleasant bar staff. All in all a great holiday.

Review title: "Wonderful"

My husband and I have stayed here twice now and will be staying here again and again. It was a lovely apartment and the staff are wonderful. It's only a short walk to the beach and there are so many places to eat near here that it's a job to decide. The views from the upper apartments are fantastic, especially at night and its well worth looking out the back of the building at night to see the light display on the hotel behind.

These opinions are those of HotelStreet visitors and not of HotelStreet.
