Review title: "Village Park Apartments Not Very Good"
Travel date: June 2008
There were no instructions where to get your key from and the office was a 15 minute walk away. With two kids and your luggage, this wasn't a very good start. No safety deposit box, no sun beds, no kettle, had to make our own beds up, air con rubbish, didn't find a restaurant, people very loud late at night and lots of traffic on the top road. Would not stay in the Village park apartments again, but Salou itself is a very nice place.

Review title: "Enjoyable Holiday At The Village Park"
Travel date: August 2007
Had a most enjoyable week at the Village Park Apartments. Was a little worried after reading various reviews with regards these apartments.

The apartment was very spacious, especially with only having two in our party. There was everything we needed to make the most of our stay!

Minus point - towels in the apartment weren't the best!

The pool was lovely and clean with plenty of space to laze around (would have preferred a sun lounger, but hey, not the end of the world).

The location was perfect for access to shops, bars and restaurants. Favourite place for a night out was definitely '007' and kind of miss it!

Review title: "Village Park Not Recommended!"
Travel date: May 2007
We arrived at the Village Park Apartments on the 28th May 2007. Before we got off the transfer bus, we had to pay 150 euros for the room, which was not explained at booking. We had to pick the key up from a travel office which is not on site at the apartments. The rep showed us the room and left us to it. Once we had looked at the rooms, the apartments were a disgrace! The plaster coming off the walls, door handle came off in your hand, damp/mould up the walls, across the ceilings in the bedroom and bathroom. Both the bathrooms did not have light coverings so the wires were exposed, the first bathroom light never worked so we could not use this bathroom and as there were five of us this was difficult. In the kitchen the second drawer handle had broken in the middle and the wooden sharp edge was pointing up the way which was eye level with my two year old.

We then went and complained to Euromed (The place we got the key) and the reception staff very unpleasant! We then complained to the rep but unable to find us another two bed apartment suitable. We were also never told this was a residential complex and not a hotel complex. You were not allowed to have sun loungers/chairs, you had to sit on the grass with your towels. Kids not allowed lilos or floats, not allowed to play football but the Spanish kids were.

These apartments are on a self catering basis, but we had no kettle, toaster or even a frying pan, which is the first self catering holiday where these items have never been provided. We didn't even have a sweeping brush, the towels and bed linen got changed only once for the whole two weeks.

I would certainly never go back to Village Park and would not recommend anybody to go to the Village Park.

Review title: "Village Park Apartments"
Travel date: May 2007
II stayed at the Village Park Apartments. I really like them, but I enjoy Salou. This was my third visit and first time at Village Park. I would say this is a place for independent travellers, perhaps with teenagers. Three of us shared a two bedroom, two bathroom apartment.

I am going to start with all the positives about this place. It basically contains all you need for your home away from home. Yes, these are Spanish holidays flats and are to a high standard for the Spanish and most other European travellers. Our apartment had a full size fridge/freezer, glass top four burner hob and oven, double sink, various pots, pans and dishes, washing machine, iron and ironing board, a broom, mops etc. I had no problems with ants at all, I never saw one (and I left food out over night and sometimes all day.) There is no on site entertainment or reception (which I like). Grass was comfortable. Beach is great, obviously you walk there. The apartments are very secure, therefore I didn't use safety deposit box at the office. Maids do only come once a week, but I sent them away. They bring towels, your sheets are not changed but you can wash them in the machine. (I would suggest you bring some towels of your own.) Furnshing and beds were nice. Large television, maybe bring that DVD player or games unit (we brought our 'Wii'). Bring lots of converters as there are many many plugs for you to plug in all your hairdryers, tongs etc. Sitting by the pool, I heard the complaint of no kettle or microwave - you can rent or buy a kettle.

I will say and agree, if you have paid more than £500 - £800 for a week or two here, perhaps you will be disappointed. But I think this is a value for money when under the above mentioned rates.

I heard no dogs. I found the Spanish were polite to me, but I was polite to them. My neighbour played loud music, but not at unreasonable hours. I could go on, but I won't. Just please remember it is Spain, which is why Spanish is spoken. To expect everyone to speak English to accommodate you is like them visiting England and expecting Spanish to be spoken for them.

Review title: "I Felt It Was Poor"
Travel date: August 2005
I was extremely disappointed with the whole accommodation and services provided by Village Park. To start with, there was no reception. There was no bus service near by and we had to walk a long distance in order to get to Salou centre. We were also not informed of the very busy train track that ran directly opposite our balcony. The only positive aspect of Village Park is that it was within walking distance from Port Aventura.

Review title: "Really Enjoyed It"
Travel date: May 2004
I stayed at the Village Park Apartments with my two children and my mother. Found the apartments lovely. Just five minutes from the centre, close enough to the beach and pubs, but far enough away to get a good nights sleep without the noise of the bars. Would go back again.

These opinions are those of HotelStreet visitors and not of HotelStreet.
