"Royal Al-Andalus"

The Royal Al-Andalus was immaculately clean and rooms serviced every day. The room itself was to a high standard. The food was good quality and service was excellent. You could not equate four stars in this country to this hotel; nevertheless it was better than most we have stayed in over the years. Non-smoking, apart from the room, which was a bonus. However, even if it was smoking, the bar was big and spacious for it not to matter a great deal. If you are used to the Hilton then you will find fault, otherwise was overall excellent value.
The actual location was ten minutes walk from the town centre to the left and the same to the beach area to the right. Across the road is a 24 hour garage if you have a late night and feel like a snack. The locals were very friendly and the kids polite. Don't make the mistake of comparing them to the British hoodies! We are going back in October.

"Very Well Recommended"
Travel date:
February 2006
We went in low-season as a last minute getaway for Valentine's Day in 2006. My partner booked and I was shocked when we arrived at our destination. Marble all around, and immediately you feel a touch of class - the front of the building in the evening is beautiful.
I would suggest rather than paying for a transfer (around £15) that you exit the airport and get the train. This only costs around £1.80 and takes ten minutes. The hotel is just a ten minute walk down the road. You might want to get a taxi - this will save a lot of money. I'm the worlds worst at being lazy and didn't find this a problem at all.
Rooms were lovely inside and you couldn't ask for more. The only downside I can think of for the Royal Al Andalus Hotel was that the internal windows (in the corridors) could have done with a bit more maintenance, but the rooms themselves were more than adequate.
All staff were pleasant, nothing too much trouble. Most seemed very laid back - a strange feeling compared to the bustle we get back in Britain.
As we went in low season, I can't really comment on the popularity of sunbeds etc, but quite a few people were there with us and we always got a spot. For the time of year the weather was lovely and I did catch a tan!
Beaches looked lovely, plenty of restaurants and bars to keep you occupied on the beach front. Excellent British fry-ups for those who can't resist!
Torremolinos is rather quiet this time of year so I would suggest heading into Benalmadena for night life if you like something busier, only a few euros in a taxi. We're going back again in February this year and I can't wait!

Very good hotel, food good, staff very good. I manage a home for people with mental health problems. We took ten clients to this hotel and we were treated with a great deal of respect. The staff made us feel very at ease. Great.
