The four star Beatriz Playa Hotel is situated some 20 metres from the beach in the Matagorda area of Puerto del Carmen, on the southern coast of Lanzarote, some five kilometres from the airport.
The accommodation at the four storey Beatriz Playa, which is set in gardens, comprises 37 junior suites, and 372 family rooms, of which 52 are non smoking rooms, each having a private bathroom/shower, and a balcony or terrace. The rooms are all equipped with air conditioning, a telephone, pay to view satellite television, music channels, a mini bar and a rental safety deposit box.
The facilities at the hotel include a buffet restaurant, an Italian restaurant open July to November, a poolside snack bar, two salon bars, two swimming pools (one heated in winter) surrounded by sun terraces with sun beds and parasols, a children's pool (heated in winter), a shopping gallery, a hairdresser, a fitness suite, a sauna, tennis courts, petanque court, rifle and archery ranges, mini golf and currency exchange. A programme of entertainment is provided, including a mini club for the younger children, and guests can play table tennis, tennis, and volleyball. There are a number of shops, bars and restaurants nearby.
Board basis available at this hotel is bed and breakfast, half board or all inclusive.

Hi. Just back from a wonderful week at the Hotel Beatriz Playa. Had a wonderful time. Hotel was fantastic - very stylish, clean and very friendly and helpful staff. Had a beautiful top floor room with balcony overlooking the beautiful beach. Heaven for a week. Would recommend to anyone and would love to go back again. I liked the hotel, although it tended to get a bit noisy by the pool. The pool was lovely and warm though and my room was big and spacious with comfortable beds. The food was fine too.
My one big complaint was that the service was dreadful at the restaurant. Considering it was a buffet service, you would think that the waiters could manage to serve you wine with your meal but on two occasions I was offered something to drink AFTER I had finished my meal. Apart from that complaint I enjoyed my stay and would go back.

I liked the hotel, although it tended to get a bit noisy by the pool. The pool was lovely and warm though and my room was big and spacious with comfortable beds. The food was fine too.

The room was very nice and kept very clean by the staff. The breakfast restaurant was awful - overcrowded and noisy every morning. Breakfast was not something we enjoyed. By the time you figured out where everything was and got it, breakfast was often cold. Also, tea should be made with boiling water, but the water available was just hot, so the tea was awful too.
The swimming pool area was very bad - music playing up one end, which was very distracting when you just want to lie in the sun and relax and read. The man that organises things around the pool was a constant annoyance - calling for people to get up and exercise or play a game and counting over and over in Spanish. We gave up and went to the beach every day. This happened every time we attempted to go out to the pool area to relax. Over all, a very disappointing hotel. We would not stay at this hotel again.
