On arriving, the Playa Pocillos looked great - quiet but good, but how disappointed we were. The cleanliness of the rooms was the worst we have ever stayed in with the cleaners only brushing and a quick mop - that's what they call cleaning. Also we never had clean towels in over a week and the same for the linen.

The pools were freezing which was a disappointment to my niece who was only 18 months old. Also the so called bar shut at 5 p.m. so if you wanted a late night drink you had no chance.

If you want a really cheap place to stop, then go ahead but be warned - it was ant infested and not very pleasant.

Also the so called tennis court cost ten euros to have and they don't let any other activity, e.g. football, on it.

Review title: "Very Basic"
Travel date: April 2008
Overall our stay at the Playa Pocillos Apartments was OK. The accommodation was clean enough although I don't rate green washed out sheets very much! Disliked the sofa bed with pull out bed below in the living space and not enough linen was left to make up the kids' beds.

The pool was freezing! Never saw it getting properly cleaned all week other than a quick once over in the morning. Sun beds cost one euro per day. The pool bar only really makes snacks or light lunches and to eat a proper meal you have to walk down to the shopping centre. It is a fair hike back from the shopping centre and may not suit the less mobile. The reception was closed longer than it was open and the staff were not very friendly.

Arrived at apartments at 10.30 p.m. Reception was closed so had to ring a telephone number that was on the door. Key under the mat - how very English. Room was very clean and spacious. We were on the ground floor by the pool.

The only down side was the noise from upstairs and next door. You could hear every time anyone used the toilet and why do people move furniture around at 2.00 a.m.?

Very basic food served from the pool bar which was only open to 5.00 p.m. as it is still winter time. Sun bed cushions were one euro each, cheap but should you really have to pay if staying there. Overall good accommodation for the money and we had terrific weather.

These opinions are those of HotelStreet visitors and not of HotelStreet.
