The Teneguia apartments are nice apartments with a cool pool. Friendly staff who speak English. Pretty clean and close to everywhere. Lovely.

"Wouldn't Stay Here Again"

I had read some views regarding security issues before I visited the Teneguia but found it wasn't a issue during our stay but windows and doors are very easy to open and you need to pay to use a safe (which, by the way, isn't very secure).
Apartments were very basic. When we got there, some of our appliances didn't work and it took a while to get them replaced! Cleaners came most days but never seemed to clean the floors - they were filthy! I ended up doing it myself after a few days. Staff in reception area were friendly on arrival but for the remainder of the stay weren't very helpful. The walls are like cardboard - you can hear everything that goes on next door (I mean everything).
A bit of a walk to the main town - nice walk during the day but in the dark its a bit sketchy..
Wouldn't recommend to anyone - if you've booked here, see if you can change ASAP.

It's an apartment people are booking into, not a five star hotel! They were cleaned everyday with fresh linen and towels always available. Five minutes walk from town, which is by no means far! Pool was a bit on deep side, but can't have everything. Staff very friendly and would stay at the Teneguia again!

"Not Bad"

We're just back from Lanzarote last night and we stayed at Teneguia apartments. I don't know why most comments are bad. We loved the apartment. It was very quiet both at night and day.
It's true they don't come to clean the apartment every day, but they change towels once a week. You can rent a fan and I found the safe very safe. It's comfortable and clean.
Also, if you travel back home at night, they will give you a waiting room (with a shower) for your luggage. Not too far from shops and restaurants. The pool is not the biggest in the world, but we found not many people use it. In fact, it was really only us who used it.
We enjoyed our time there, even though we weren't looking forward to it after reading the bad comments before our departure. Remember this is not a 5 star hotel and you can't expect perfection.

"Teneguia Apartments Very Pleasant"
Travel date:
March 2009
Having read the reviews after booking our holiday, I was very worried about the Teneguia apartments but we were very pleasantly surprised when we arrived. They were basic but clean. Cleaners knocked most days and no problem with clean towels.
I would be concerned about security as there was a very noisy disturbance in one of the apartments one night and there was nobody around to deal with it. Also the owners weren't very welcoming and didn't speak any English but overall it was a very pleasant holiday.

"Teneguia Apartments Great"
Travel date:
March 2009
Having recently stayed in the Teneguia apartments, I have to honestly say it was great, even though before our journey I had looked at the reviews which couldn't be any further from the truth.
We stayed with three children under the age of nine and they had a ball. Even though the pool was on the deep side, it didn't stop them from having a ball.
My only problem would have to be the owners of the apartments, who I have to say, are by no means friendly and on our day of departure we had not been allowed to hold on to our room with a sick baby.

Staff at the Teneguia apartments can't speak English, or so they say? Apartments not too good. Floor tiles chipped and couch frame broken. Mattress dirty and doors and windows easily opened. Staff extremely unhelpful and rude. Move apartments.

Boys and girls, don't stay at the Teneguia. These are the worst apartments. We had no air con, or a fan and they were very dirty. Doors are simple to open without a key and we couldn't relax, knowing they are regularly broken into.
Too far away from all the strip. Need to get taxi everywhere and the shop next door has nothing! Staff were really rude to us and have you out really fast with no time to get your stuff together! Overall really awful!

"Unsafe"

Got to Teneguia apartment and owners did not greet us at all. Instead they had no English and were rude and not helpful. An Irish flag outside the small apartment gates would denote English speakers - but obviously not!?
Reception is a tiny room and opens only for a few hours a day. One key was given to us so if we lost the key, what were we to do and who could have explained this to us?
No sound on TV until we realised, on day four, a loose connection at the back. Floors were dirty - realised this when our feet were black! Towels were minimal and bed linen changed apparently once a week. We had to ask for towels.
Not safe to stay in. The apartments were broken into while we were there and the doors to them were not safe. The rep didn't even call to help on that night either. Very disappointing.
It is not 500 metres to the beach, it seemed longer to walk to the entrance. Wouldn't stay at that end of the town ever again. Sorry, just had to be honest on this. We also we heard other neighbours complaining too. From four very disappointd Irish girls.

"Teneguia Apartments Are Bad"

Stayed for three nights before being moved to a better two star. Reception never open - only open for an hour each day. Room smelly and filthy, bed linen not changed. No proper facilities, no pool bar, one pool small size. No phone in room and no numbers to contact reception or maintenance.
I would rate the Teneguia apartments as a one star. Stayed in far more better two stars before. Badly situated in residential area and not safe to walk at night.

There were five adults and two kids. Only downfall was the pool for kids was too deep, other than that we had a ball. Ten minutes walk to the town centre with a good night life.
Well, I would recommend 'Jasper's' for their Sunday lunches or just for a bite to eat because their food in general was very nice and cheap.
Yes I would recommend the Teneguia apartments because they are very clean and the staff were very pleasant. Yes, I would come back here again. In fact, we're going back next summer.

The staff are great and very friendly. I can't wait to go back next year! I recommend the Teneguia because it's so suitable for kids and the whole family! Can't wait to come back!

We stayed in the apartments and it was a very pleasant stay. I will definitely be going back. The cleaner comes to each apartment every day. It's good to see the owners taking pride as the holiday makers will then pick up on this.

"Nice Apartments.. But..."
Travel date:
April 2005
Ten girls went over on a hen week. The apartment itself was big but the bedrooms were slightly cramped. The weather was lovely for the time of year!
But while we were there, there were three apartments broken into around the apartments we had! I went home early the night after the break ins and didn't really feel safe. There wasn't any security at all.
It is a nice but small complex, a bit away from the beach though! Would consider going back!
