My partner and I and our three year old son stayed here for a week on 02/09/07. At first we thought the hotel was OK but a bit grubby. As days passed, we realised our room wasn't being cleaned, our feet were black walking from one side to the other, the balcony was filthy and we came home every night and the place was crawling with cockroaches - walls sinks and floors. I woke up one night to find six live cockroaches crawling round my child's pillows. I felt sick.

The staff were friendly but only one could speak English. We had to pay every day for sunbeds which is a complete cheek as we had already paid to stay there. We wanted a cheap holiday but still feel ripped off. The hotel was dated and dirty. I'll never go back to the Europark 74. Don't advise families with young children to go.

The pool closes every day. Even though there was hardly ever a life guard there, you had to leave the pool at six and then all the locals seemed to be in there!

Benalmadena is a lovely place but this hotel was disgusting.
