"Good Value For Money"

My husband and I have just returned from a week's stay at the Mediterraneo, Nerja. I must admit after having read previous reports and seen pictures of the rooms, we were a little subdued.
However fear not, we arrived a little later than expected to be told that our room had been changed. We had been moved from a studio with no balcony to one with a balcony. The difference in price was around £150 for the week (hence why we booked the studio without the balcony as it was a late cheap booking). The room had twin beds, air conditioning, iron and ironing board, toaster, kettle, two ring hob and a bathroom with a half bath and shower. The water was always hot and the shower very powerful.
The apartments are in a tiny courtyard and situated approximately 100 metres from the beach. The plunge pool is at the front and rarely gets the sun so is very cold! There is no bar at the hotel but a pizzeria (only opened once whilst we were there).
As you go left out of the apartments you will find bars and restaurants. Once you have passed a Chinese on the corner turn left and again you will find further bars etc. We made some very good friends in a bar called 'The Victoria' - Lorraine and her husband Bill, highly recommended, - one euro for a bottle of Mahou and snacks for three euros! We were never away.
The resort of Nerja we thought was very nice and quiet. However, in peak season you may find it a bit hectic. All in all a good, nice, cheap getaway. We will definitely be going back to Nerja.

"Mediterraneo Apartments Not So Good!"
Travel date:

Just got back from an 11 night stay the at Mediterraneo. I have stayed in these apartments before and I thought they were fine, but this time I beg to differ!
The room was tiny with no balcony. The room was dark with a window, which although large, didn't open enough to reap the benefit. The hobs didn't work and when we complained, a 'portable' hob was provided which operated marginally better. There was only one plug in the kitchenette, so neither the kettle, microwave or toaster could be used together. We were forced to make our cups of tea at the bedside table!
Besides all this, the staff were helpful and friendly and there is a happy hour each night when two drinks are offered at the price of one. The sunroof is a bit sparce, but does get some sun, unlike the pool. We enjoyed Nerja, but not our living quarters!

This is great, mostly quiet (unless you are under the air conditioning unit), close to fantastic bars and such. Stayed here at least four times and going back again. Recommend it to anyone I like!
Oh, the pools freezing and tiny but there's a beach, more than one even, lots of them, see, because Nerja's on the coast.
Mediterraneo apartments are clean, staff friendly and helpful and 'Irish Annie's' is just up the road.
