Review title: "Monasterio Noise!"
Travel date: February 2005
Beautiful exterior, lovely lobby and fantastic cloister. However beyond this classical façade, the rooms here are pretty basic and more reminiscent of a redbrick university hall of residence than a three star hotel. A fact further increased by the presence of dozens of students ? apparently the hotel's main customer base.

The breakfast buffet opens at 7.30 but by 8.30 the students have had all the best pastries leaving you with only dry bread rolls and unlimited supply of coco-pops.

The hotel rooms are bordered on two sides by school playgrounds and the noise was constant from 9.00 am until late. On one night there was a five-a side football match, which went on until midnight! With the lack of double-glazing to the rooms the noise was almost intolerable. Traffic noise was thankfully absent but would almost have been preferable to this. So if you don't like the sound of screaming children all day, you may wish to choose a different hotel.
