Review title: "Dunas Alisios Apartments Great"
Travel date: May 2009
After reading some of the reviews of the Dunas Alisios Playa, I was very dubious but don't be put off. The apartments were spotless, staff very friendly mnd entertainment brilliant for early season.

We went self catering for ease and the apartments are well equiped for this. If, however, you wish to eat out, please try 'The Castle' where the food is home made and fantastic value for money. Another good place is a Chinese called 'Slow Boat II' which is on the left hand side of the street in a small precinct.

Many good drinking places. I would highly recommend the 'Alpha II' bar which offers good value for money drinks friendly service and great atmosphere. Lots of shops etc and a lovely beach. Can't wait to go back.

Review title: "Good Location"
Travel date: April 2009
We have just returned from a holiday in the Dunas Alisios appartment. Our first impressions were good and the staff seemed friendly and helpful. There was a lively atmosphere, but better for those people with young children or those who enjoy watching football.

The location was brilliant and it was in easy walking distance to all the restaurants and bars. The swimming pool area was well kept and tidy.

The problem was the bedroom. It was on the Dunas side and initially we thought it was OK -not the Ritz, but OK. After returning on the first evening, we realised that we were not alone. The place was crawling with cockroaches. They were in the kitchen area and bathroom. My husband isn't frightened of much, but these were huge! We asked to move to another room on the next morning and this was promptly carried out. This time our room was on the Alisios side, as we wanted to be well away from the cockroaches! This room was worse. To begin with, the door was just about hanging off! There was mould in the kitchen cupboards (we wouldn't normally look in there, but we were on the hunt for cockroaches!) There was no hot water and the shower was merely a dribble! The grout on the bathroom tiles was black. The towels didn't smell very fresh. The light fittings were rusty and the beds made a banging noise every time you turned over. We also had 'visitors' in this room, but they weren't quite as large! We spoke to our rep., which resulted in a move to other apartments. These were different again and we didn't see another cockroach for the rest of the week.

This maybe the place for you if you are looking for a base very close to the centre and you don't mind sharing your room with cockroaches. This is the main thing that really put us off.

Review title: "Dunas Alisios Playa"
Travel date: July 2008
We went on holiday this year to the Dunas Alisios Playa and were advised by a First Choice tour operator that this apartments/hotel was suitable for disabled people.

This holiday in the brochure is a three star which we paid for and upgraded to half board. When we arrived it was rated as a two star. The meal we had on the first night was all dried up and not suitable to eat. The second night they had a barbecue which they wanted 12 euros per person and six euros for children for. Not all of us wanted a barbecue but they didn't cater for half board people so we had to buy our tea.

The rooms weren't safe enough for a child to be running about because there was rust falling of the bath and dirty. Also I would like to point out that this complex is not suitable for wheelchair users as the ramps are so steep and it is impossible to get a wheelchair up every day when the person is wheelchair bound. This resulted in us changing hotels and we had to forfeit our half board holiday and down grade to bed and breakfast because this was a three star hotel which was the only other one in Corralejo suitable for disabled (the Lobos Bahia Club).

Overall, we didn't have a good holiday and will not be returning. Beware of the steep kerbs and when you are crossing the zebra crossings because they don't always stop.

Review title: "Los Alisios "
Travel date: March 2007
We had been coming to Los Alisios for five years up until March 2007. We have always visited with friends who still stay at the apartments.

We were disappointed last year with the amount of cockroaches on site and even in the room. I know we were provided with insect spray etc, but it is somewhat off putting when returning to your room in the dark to find them scurrying around your feet.

The rooms are good although the furnishings are a little worn, and please replace those horrible brown scratchy towels! The rooms were kept nice by the cleaning staff who were great and nothing was too much trouble for them.

All the staff were friendly and helpful. We have not returned this year because of the cockroaches. We also feel that the town could do with some investment as it, in places, is tatty. Not to say we won't return in the future but would consider staying at another resort.

Review title: "Los Alisios Playa Apartments Are Good"
Travel date: July 2006
An enjoyable place to stay. Staff were very polite and helpful. We were situated in middle of the town which was great as husband has walking difficulties. We had steps up to apartment but doesn't say that in brochure or when we booked holiday. But apart from that everything else was on the flat.

Not many activities at Los Alisios but you don't really need it as you are always out anyway but you have a lovely pool bar at night if needed that opens till 11.45 p.m. We would come back to these apartments again.
