Review title: "Fantastic Stay"
Travel date: September 2007
We got moved to the Montebello apartments. The stay was fantastic. Staff friendly, bar staff, cleaners, reception staff, every one was great. The apartments are very clean and modern, the pool very clean and well maintained, the shop on site open 9 until 8 catering for all your needs, games room for the kids, really fantastic place to stay. We will be going back next year. Thank you to all the staff for making our stay happy and relaxing.

Review title: "Ideal Apartments"
Travel date: October 2006
We stayed at the Montebello Apartments for one week and found it ideal for us. We are a retired couple and wanted a quiet and relaxing time in a pleasant place and we were not disappointed. The place is kept very tidy and clean and the staff are really friendly and helpful. The pool is nice and very warm. We had a few meals at the pool bar and
the food was very good and good value for money. The place is very peaceful during the day, only gentle background music from the pool bar and no noisy people. Most of the guests seemed to be from the Nordic countries – Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland and a few from England and Ireland.

The climb up from the town centre is a bit of a challenge and older people might need to take a taxi .We did not fall in love with the town itself as it is only a tourist centre with no character but it sure is cheap to eat out. Try the Chinese restaurant's all you can eat for 5.98 euros. The beach is almost a mile from the apartment and is nice and sandy. We did a grand tour of the island by coach but it was a bit lacklustre. Good scenery but nothing really dramatic. Overall a very good experience. Well done Montebello.

Review title: "Great Hoilday"
Travel date: June 2006
I have just returned from the Montebello Apartments in Gran Canaria, Puerto Rico and I had a great time. The apartments are fine and the staff are great. You do need money for the television but not much. The pool bar and man and family (owners of pool bar) are the most friendly welcoming people you could ever meet.

I personally recommend people to stay there. The only problem is the steps but you'll find steps ever where on the island and as for the one review saying it was black rock every where, well there isn't. It is beautiful and can't wait to get back there. My children are very young and it was great for them.

Review title: "Montebello apartments Were So So!"
Travel date: September 2005
The rooms at the Montebello were average. The electric sockets were placed in awkward places - found it difficult to use our hairdryer and the large mirror at the same time due to socket being placed at other end of room. Bathroom was nice, kitchen very basic but ok. The maid service was good and they were quite pleasant. As the evenings were very hot and stuffy, we would have appreciated air-conditioning which these apartments didn't have. The lifts at the apartments were frequently out of service.

We didn't mind the distance and the steep hills going to and from the Commercial Centre/beach etc.

Entertainment at the Montebello was virtually non-existent but staff at the pool bar were very friendly and there was recorded music playing constantly, although repeated tunes were played all day, every day. Food at the pool bar was fair but expensive compared to the restaurants at the Commercial Centre. The views from the apartment were nice, if you were on floors six and above.

We enjoyed our holiday in Puerto Rico (Gran Canaria) and will definitely return for another holiday but maybe not at the Montebello.

Review title: "Montebello Apartments Are Average"
Travel date: November 2003
The rooms in the Montebello are pretty average, although very clean. Maids came to the room every day to clean floors etc.

The entertainment at the hotel was dire! Really awful! But a short taxi trip brought us straight to the heart of the centre. (Situated on the top of a very, very steep hill, its not too bad walking down, but walking back up is exhausting).

First impressions of Montebello was disappointing - the corridors from level to level are outdoors and there were plenty of roaches!

Swimming pool was clean and the staff were very helpful. Food around pool was ok although a little expensive. Overall we had a great holiday in Puerto Rico although wouldn't stay in the Montebello again. (no air-conditioning - very hot during night).
