Review title: "Holiday Disaster"
Travel date: October 2009
For a start, the coach droping us of couldn't drive up the hill so it dropped us at the main road which is about half a mile to the apartments. We had three suitcases and me and my wife and daughter had no help getting up the hill by anyone. When we got to reception, the man who was on, as it was quite late, spoke no English, was very rude and basically seemed not to want to be there.

We were then shown to our apartments, which are not as shown on the pictures on the net.

The bar area - well, what can I say? Food awful, very expensive and there's not very much to choose from. No draft beer whatsoever, just Fosters Ice in a bottle.

As for where the apartments are situated - at least 15-20 minutes walk from the beach and all hills on the way back. I would be quite fit but really got fed up having to walk that everyday to get to anything. Beach not even real sand.

Total disaster. If you ask me, do not go here! Bathroom - when the upstairs apartment pulled the plug on the bath, their dirty water came through our bath. Bedding never changed in the week we were there, curtains has sick all over them, fag holes in the bedding and slats missing from the beds. The Els Llorers apartments looked like a block of council flats. I would advise no one to go there.

Review title: "Think About It First"
Travel date: June 2009
I went to the Els Llorers apartments in June 2009 with my husband and two kids. I had read many reviews on it, so was hesitating whether to go. However, on arrival, I was quite pleased with my apartment. It was basic but clean but beware, you only get a gas hob, no cooker but when I booked it said you get a cooker and washing machine.

My apartment overlooked the pool, which is kept very clean, I must say but not all apartments overlook the pool. Some are set right back as there are three blocks. Also reading reviews it mentions the hill up to the apartments - to me it was nothing and not as bad as made out.

On the positive side, the staff are very polite and have lots of fun good with kids. On the down side, apartments can be noisy. I had three sleepless nights.

As for the town, it was about a ten minute walk. I did not think much of it. Full of youngsters and no good for a family. Also thought food was rubbish. Put it this way, I would never go there again.

Also, if you get a taxi from Girona airport, it costs a lot - up to 60 euros. On the bright side - if looking for a cheap holiday and you don't mind a walk, then a good place for you.

Review title: "Do Not Go Here!"
Travel date: May 2009
I went to the Els Llorers with my husband and three year old son. I found this the worst ever apartments I have ever stayed in. I read reviews from last year and I thought it was just maybe people being picky but no way.

For a start, the coach droping us of couldn't drive up the hill so dropped us at the bottom of a very steep hill. We had three suitcases, my son and a pram and had no help getting up the hill by anyone. When we got to reception, the security man was on as it was quite late. He spoke very little English, was very rude and basically seemed not to want to be there. We where then shown to are apartments, which are not as shown on the pictures on the net. We were not overlooking the pool but in a block situated up another hill five minutes' walk from the pool.

There were workmen working on the roof etc (unsafe for kids). Inside, the apartments are basic (but mostly are self catering) and they were clean enough on arrival. But no clean towels or cleaner the whole week we were there.

The bar area - well, what can I say? Food awful, very expensive and there's not very much to choose from.

As for where the apartments are situated - at least 15-20 minutes' walk from the beach and all hills on the way back. I would be quite fit but really got fed up having to walk that everyday to get to anything. Beach not even real sand so my son couldn't even play on it. Total disaster. If you ask me, do not go here!

Review title: "Would Never Go Back"
Travel date: June 2005
My family and I stayed at these apartments in June this year and found them to be dirty (only having our sheets changed twice in a fortnight). The pool was dirty and two of the bar staff very rude to myself and other guests. Rats could easily be seen behind the barbecue and in the kitchen. The toilet in the bar area was blocked and could not be used for two days. I know of a lot of people who have complained to their tour operator since returning home and my own children have had to have hospital treatment because of serious ear infections because of the pool conditions. These apartments I would never recommend to anyone.

Review title: "Cheap Fun Holiday"
Travel date: May 2005
Overall I think that the hotel didn't have many facilities during the day for children etc. There wasn't much entertainment at night. Bar service was very poor, very slow, Nothing for children to do.

Review title: "Great Apartments"
Travel date: July 2002
Found Els Llorers Apartments very enjoyable. Well kept and clean. Staff were friendly and bar/restauant open from early morning till early hours of next!!! Good selection of food and drink on offer and never had a bad meal in the fortnight we spent there. Bingo nights were good fun, however, would advise going into town on flamenco dancing nights!!

Good sized pool and plenty of sunbeds. There are two pool table, air hockey table and quiz machine for added entertainment. However, when we were there there were no kids' clubs available. Would check this out before booking if you are taking kids with you.

Apartments only five minutes bus ride from town centre, and buses are about every 15 mins. All in all, had a fab holiday at this resort and the apartments made it all the more special. Would def go back and recommend to anyone.
