Review title: "Cye Marina Apartments Avoid"
Travel date: July 2008
This place was a joke from start to finish. Avoid it like the plague! No air con, tiny pool with sleeping lifeguard, no clean sheets or towels, no kettle or toaster etc., no maid service in two weeks, lifts that broke down everyday, no entertainment at all and food rubbish. All in all, the Cye Marina is the worst place ever.

Review title: "Noisy Holiday "
Travel date: July 2008
Well, I arrived back home last night (28.07.2008) from my holiday in the Cye Marina hotel in Lla Pineda. Firstly, I would like to say I did'nt expect luxury but to say it's basic doesn't describe it really. There is absolutey nothing enjoyable about these apartments at all. I took my three grandchildren with me and I must say it didn't matter to them that they had to slum it, but that's what we did.

The apartment was dirty and bed linen not much better. We were given four tiny towels and two large towels but with three kids in and out if the pool and on and off the beach all day, it's not good enough. You need to be showering all the time and you need more towels, even though we all take our own beach towels anyway, but we did have two lots of clean ones carefully counted out to us.

If you dare to go here, make sure you don't get an apartment on the front of the building because it so noisy you can't sleep, what with the dustbin men collecting the bins every evening after midnight and the residents dogs (of which there are many) barking all night. You have to be either very drunk or on sleeping pills to get to sleep. I'm told it's not much better on the back of the building.

The pool is tiny but it was good fun to watch the new comers' faces when they came to look at the pool on arriving full of expectation, only to see this tiny pool that's hardly big enough for the kids, never mind the adults. There is no air conditioning, not even in the bar. They have ceiling fans that are never on so that even having a drink isn't enjoyable. You don't get a kettle and you have to hire one or make do but you do get a frying pan.

The staff aren't that helpful or friendly. The cleaners are the nicest. Overall the place is not good. Would never go back. Not that cheap either. No comfort whatsoever. Didn't expect much, but some and please check your apartment for pet hair. I was put out to discover that pets were allowed in apartments and only found out when the Yorkshire terrier in an apartment below us yapped all night, every night.

We had lovely weather all week and the beach is beautiful all the way along the coast. This saved our holiday. I have never had a holiday where the residents are noisier than the tourists but they were in this part of La Pienda. They were shouting and tooting their car horns to one another all through the night. Not family friendly really and not a place for the faint hearted.

Review title: "Cye Marina Apartments"
Travel date: October 2007
We stayed at the Cye Marina. It was a last minute cheap holiday and we did'nt expect much for the amount we paid but believe me, we were very surprised. Our apartment was a one bedroom on the third floor. It was clean and ample for what we needed. I must admit they could do with up dating but don't let that put you off.

The bar and the pool area is OK. You are only a five minute walk from the beach but do go to the far end of the beach (the big mushrooms end - you'll know what I mean when you see them).

Eating out, there are loads of places but if you want good English food then you should go to 'Gordon's' bar. The food and the company are second to none. Use the local bus service to go to Salou, Cambrils market and the massive Sunday market in Bona Vista.

So all in all we had a very, very good holiday and beautiful weather.

Review title: "Where Is The Problem"
Travel date: October 2007
I can't see what the problem is. I booked a weeks stay in October for my family of six. All I wanted was a basic apartment to use as a base. When we arrived, the staff were very friendly and it took about five minutes to get booked in.

The rooms were very basic but clean and tidy. Could have done with a kettle so we had to hire one from reception. The cleaning maids were always around asking if you wanted clean towels.

We found the food in the supermarket a bit expensive but about the same as everywhere. The location was perfect and a few minutes from a clean well kept beach. Plenty of shops to spend your holiday money in.

There was a pool at the apartment, a bit small but very clean. Attached to the apartments was a bar which served English food which was always cooked as it should be.

The local buses were a hundred time better the the English buses. You could catch one every ten minutes and they were clean. The bus drivers never ripped you off either. The holiday reps will try to sell you trips to different places but we found it a lot cheaper to use the Spanish tours. They speak English so no problem there. We saved 60 euros on the Barcelona zoo trip.

To round it all off, if you want basic then this is the place to stay. If you want a better type of accommodation then don't stay there. It is what it says on the packet - basic.

Review title: "Not A Pretty Picture"
Travel date: May 2007
Apartments were really clean and tidy, cleaners came in every two days with clean towels and bedding and cleaners were helpful. Not much entertainment there in the evenings. There was a games room, bingo and quiz every night.

Plenty of places to eat and drink in the area, water park was great fun. Beach was nice but dusty and view to the left was of a oil refinery and shipping port. Weather was wonderful and had a great holiday, shame about the view.

Review title: "Cya Marina. Cheap And Cheerful"
Travel date: September 2006
My overall comments of Cye Marina are as follows:

On arrival, after paying for my nine month old babies' holiday, was charged a further 48 euros for cot hire. There wasn't a kettle and although being advertised with TV in the room, there was only CNN in English .The rooms were otherwise acceptable - clean and tidy.

Two days of awful storms and heavy rain didn't put us off. In all, we had a good time, mostly made up of day trips. Local restaurants were good. Great time had by all although not really enough to do for the kids.

Final thought: thumbs up to local council - terrific clean beaches.

Review title: "Cye - We Loved You"
Travel date: September 2006
We have just come back from the Cye Marina. Even though we had the terrible storms on Monday and Tuesday of the first days of our holiday, it did not stop us enjoying our time spent in La Pineda. We were cut off from leaving the resort for two days but the people and place made it a good time. We had dry days but not excellent weather, but who can predict the weather? No one.

The staff at the Cye Marina apartments were great. We had a great time and a really good laugh. We met some lovely people. Our room was very clean and tidy, clean bedding and towels. We had a great holiday.

It was rubbish. No air con, rubbish beds, stinks of sewers at night, tiny pool, rubbish food and found a centipede running round our bathroom.

Review title: "Cye Is Ace"
Travel date: May 2006
I have just returned from Cye Marina apartments and had a fab holiday. The apartments, although basic, are spotlessly clean, as is the communal areas. There is a small play area at the back, with slides and climbing frame etc for kids on astro turf (watch out this gets very hot.) The pool area although small, is great. The children's area is cut off with a rail so they cannot get into deep end. The bar attached is very friendly and run on an evening by a lass from Cardiff called Leanne who is great.

The beach is two minutes away. Very clean, with play areas dotted along for kids. Watch currents as my 15 year old lad got into trouble in a dingy. They are numerous eateries with a three course meal for just eight euros. Bars galore, all friendly, kids welcome. I cannot find fault with these apartments or their vicinity at all.

We stayed at the Cye Marina with our two children. I found the rooms quite nice and very clean. The only disappointing thing is the size of the pool. There is not much room. Also, as soon as you go outside, there are stray cats everywhere.

There is a pub attached to the apartments where children can join in the entertainment. We were there every night.

Not much around the area. Bus stops at the end of the road.
