"Siesta Playa Apartments Are Brilliant!"
Travel date:
May 2008
Upon reading the negative reviews on here after we booked our large party of nine, I was a little doubtful. But we were proven wrong. We all had lovely apartments with magnificent views. Cleaning could have been a little better but nothing to complain about. Swimming pool was nice and clean although a little cold. Beach was lovely and brilliant for snorkelling.
Never ate at the hotel restaurant as was a little expensive. The harbour was beautiful, especially at night. Food was really good. We especially recomend the 'Chinese Hong Kong Buffet' which is situated behind the harbour.
Overall we thoroughly enjoyed the holiday, even though the weather could have been a little bit better but we are definitely going to return to the Siesta Playa apartments!

"Siesta Playa - Not As Bad As I Thought!"
Travel date:

After reading these reviews after we'd booked I was gutted! I'll be honest, I was!
When we got there, the room was ready and we went straight up, top floor. We had a duplex apartment, with a spiral staircase to a large en suite room with a large balcony.
We looked over the marina and the beach - the best view I think, by miles! Downstairs was a lounge diner and kitchen, with another bathroom and bedroom.
The only comment I can make on the accommodation is that it could have been cleaner - a few cobwebs here and there and the cutlery was dirty. It was like it this apartment hadn't been used for a while. Someone came up and cleaned them for us. Otherwise it was great - comfortable and equipped with everything we needed.
Don't get me wrong, I've stayed in better places, but we were very happy. The location was fantastic, we never went to the pool bar for an evening meal so cannot comment on that, we went out to the marina, where there are many great places to eat, Avanti being our favorite! But we did eat and drink through the day. It wasn't that expensive considering the portion sizes! They were very generous!
Very handy for buses to Ciutudella leading to everywhere else.
We paid for our safe in the wardrobe, as we always do, 20 euros, not bad between four of us.
The pool area was clean and very nice and the lead down to the beach was nice. It was so good to be that close, you have the best of both worlds then.
The supermarkets were close by. There are a few of them which is good (competitive prices).
My parents, uncle and I had a really great holiday here. Everyone focuses on the negatives of this place so sorry folks but we had a lot more positives! Everyone's different and used to different things, but all I can say is that after reading these reviews, I panicked and when we got there it wasn't half as bad as we thought from the descriptions.
The big question is would I go back there? Answer; Yes!
If the rooms were redecorated; yes, I agree, it would be better, but we can't really fault our stay at all.

"Very Disappointed"

After reading previous reviews our expectations were low and proved to be right. Apartments in need of maintenance (curtains hanging off poles and sticking front doors etc).
Woke up on night two of our stay and I was covered in ants along with the bed, wardrobe and room. Like something from a horror film. Moved us to another room next day. Big problem with them, mostly down to the sloppy cleaning!
The location is excellent though. Would have liked to sit at the bar in the evening but badly lit and very expensive.
Pool area is lovely and clean although sunbeds were very mucky - would we go back to the Siesta Playa? No!

"Disappointing! "

On arrival at the Siesta Playa our room was, as expected, clean and tidy but out dated and in need of a serious make over. The pool area was well kept and maintained on a daily basis. The so called live entertainment was non-existent and an evening around the pool bar was out of the question seeing as lighting was poor and the bar closed at 10 p.m. location was perfect as we were right on the beach.
However we lost trust in the hotel after 100 euros went missing from our room and reception staff were very unhelpful. What is worrying is that there is no manager or assistant manager permanently on the premises to sort out any problems, We had to wait two days to see anyone to sort out the problem!
Overall we had a good holiday but it may have been an excellent one if we were staying somewhere else.
