Went to Calas for the third time with my wife this year (first time just two of us on our own).

The Calas de Ibiza delivered on cleanliness, comfort, and staff friendliness. The clientèle was mixed but were mainly families when we were there in mid August. We stayed for two weeks and rooms were cleaned all but two days (cleaners day off?)

The food was good and reasonably priced. Although there was no 'inhouse' entertainment there are lots of venues to suit all ages very close by.

The apartments are basic but air conditioned with a fridge, microwave, toaster and TV. There is an 80 euro deposit on arrival which helps deter the yobs from going mad and the rep made it clear that any unacceptable behaviour would be dealt with,(we didn't see any so it must work!). Staff were both friendly and helpful.

A two euro ferry ride will get the under 30s into the 'West End' for the wilder night out while the 'Old Tavern' is a must for families. The 'Casablanca' bar attached to the Costa Sur hotel has some excellent entertainment on but they were understaffed and it takes an age to get a drink. If you want to go to Ibiza town don't pay a whack of money for an excursion. The ferry costs two euros each way to San Antonio and then its one euro 60 cents each way to Ibiza on the bus (number three, every 30 minutes) from the new bus station. All in all a great holiday.

Very clean, in fact, cleaners seem to call every day. For October weather was great. Of course some of the shops and bars were closing down – this was the 18th of October. Plenty of bars and restaurants in the main street. We can recommend ‘Old Tavern' bar where food and entertainment first class and you can be sure of music, bingo and karaoke until late.

Also, the ferries from the bay are a unique way to go to San Antonio – two euros each for the fare, a bit more than the bus but well worth the trip.
