Review title: "Excellent Stay At Norbreck Castle"
Travel date: September 2008
We stayed at the Norbreck Castle for four nights and were situated on the third floor of the Windsor wing. Our room had a sea view which was a nice surprise as we had not requested this. The room was cleaned daily and all towels were changed, even the tea and coffee in the room were kept topped up.

The restaurant staff were all very clean and tidy in their white shirts and ties and nothing was too much trouble for them - always smiles whenever you saw any of them. The food was excellent.

We heard no noise whatsoever in the night and the beds were comfortable. The pool was lovely too.

We read some really bad reviews on this hotel before we went, but can only speak as we found. Maybe some improvements have taken place or maybe we were just lucky to be placed in that wing. It is a large hotel after all.
But going from our experience, we would recommend it to anyone.

Review title: "Unsure"
Travel date: March 2006
I was really shocked at this hotel! A castle? Hmmm, something to be desired more like! I have visited Blackpool on many an occasion. This time I was at a conference with my work. I couldn't fault the humungous rooms and the conferences were fantastic. Unfortunately these weren't run by the hotel themselves. I can appreciate the fact that 500+ delegates might be a bit overwhelming for the staff.

When we got to our room the view from my room was out of a filthy window (wouldn't like to be the window cleaner for this building) was of a dirty wall. As I sat down on my bed after a six hour journey down on a bus to relax, I stood up to find my trousers soaking through as the bed was wet. I went to reception to advise the staff who advised they would see what they could do. I then went down to reception a good while after to advise the staff, who did nothing about this, so we then proceeded to stay in our friends' room which was a little better. The bathroom could have easily been a second room.

Unfortunately, it was clear the room had not been cleaned from previous visitors as we found a used condom under one of our beds. Not to fault the staff - I wouldn't have appreciated picking that up either.

I found the staff, especially the cleaners, to be quite rude. Reception was very unhelpful and as our food was paid for, we tried to get our meals but we found it too repetitive and not very tasty at all! We ended up eating out, which was either our local cafe around the corner or going to the chippy, which is a good distance as the hotel is located quite far out from Blackpool centre itself.

I find this rather uneasy as my grandparents have visited this complex before and it came very highly recommended. Maybe it was the fact that there was so many of us there but under my own standards, I would have expected a little more from this hotel and its staff considering what our companies paid to use the facilities of this property! Not somewhere I will be rushing back to in a hurry! I wouldn't trying to recommend this to a customer after the service we received!
