"Basic But Very Clean"

Staff were friendly, food was great value and the pool was fantastic. The bedroom and bathroom were lovely and clean. The kitchen was very basic but as we ate out most of the time, that was not a problem. I would recommend the Jardin de Playa Apartments.

"Never Go To Jardin De Playa"

Me and my boyfriend have just returned from our stay at this hotel which was very, very poor! It was our first time away together and this hotel didn't make our stay pleasant. We arrived and the hotel rooms are very shabby, the sheets are dirty and they give you a throw over blanket as your blanket which is not washed so you sleep in other peoples sweat. It looked very run down.
We were told the hotel has a walk on beach. This is not the case as it has a sea full of rocks. The hotel staff were not helpful at all at the reception, in fact they were very, very rude.
When we came to the hotel we were self catering and when we went to our room we discovered that our fridge didn't work, the 'phone didn't work, the cooker didn't work and the kettle had limescale in the bottom and water was still left in there and not cleaned out. When we tried to address these problems with the staff they told us 'it is not our problem, and the cooker is a gas cooker so if we don't smoke it is tough - we have to buy a lighter to light the cooker'. I found this extremely rude and I was very displeased.
I was able to open the windows from the outside, our balcony floor was sloping and it had holes from the floor and the bottom of the wall and looked like it was about to collapse so we weren't able to go out on the balcony.
I would never ever in a million years choose the Jardin de Playa hotel ever again. I was there for three nights and I couldn't wait to get home. Our room wasn't swept through when we had got there, nor throughout our stay. We had to ask for clean towels as they would not have been given to us. I was very disappointed and I would advise you strongly not to take note of pictures you see on the internet etc. of this hotel as we found out they were nothing like the hotel at all.

"Basic But Pleasant"

A group of 36 of us stayed in these apartments in the middle of February. We had a few minor problems such as no gas in the cooker bottle (most of the apartments had electric cookers) and our toilet blocked on the first morning. We reported these to reception and they were sorted by the time we returned later in the day. We also had to ask at reception for bedding for the sofa-bed.
The place was clean and friendly, though not effusive. We had fresh towels three times.
The restaurant food was good and reasonably priced at nine euros for adults and five for children, although a friend was never charged for his six year old daughter because the staff thought she wouldn't eat that much. In the evening, a member of staff played records for the children to dance/play to in an area between the bar and the restaurant. It sometimes took a long time to get served at the bar when the restaurant was still serving as the bar staff were also the drinks waiters.
The indoor pool was barely heated and we were told this was because it was out of season. There was a masseur in the same block as the pool.
The description of the apartments being 'a sea front location on a beach' is not accurate, the 'beach' really being a small concreted inlet and not all that picturesque.
For our group, a large party of walkers and climbers with some children, who spent all day out in the mountains and ate out most nights, it was an ideal base. We have stayed in nicer places but feel this had enough benefits that we will use it next year when we return to Mallorca.

"The Apartments Are OK But The Beach Is Awful"
Travel date:

We are a family with two young girls and we have read some poor reviews about Jardin de Playa but overall the apartments are not bad and the pool area is good but what attracted us to these apartments was the beach right on the doorstep.
The beach was awful with about eight inches of dead seaweed and a soup of seaweed a few yards out into the sea so we did not swim or paddle at all. But if you are a bit adventurous then just a little further around the headland there is a concrete area with sun beds (good for snorkelling) and two nicer beaches (I would recommend looking on Google Earth).
As for getting taxis into the main area of Santa Ponsa, we walked every night and it takes about 15 minutes. The walk down from the taxi rank and along the sea front is beautiful but is a bit rough in parts. The walk along the road takes you past some of the best places to eat and there are plenty of shops. The square has entertainment on every night but the prices are a bit more! Enjoyed Cala d'Or better than Santa Ponsa but overall we had a good time.

"Jardin de Playa Apartments Are Poor!"
Travel date:

Just returned from a seven night stay at these apartments and was very disappointed. We went as two couples booking and paying for two separate rooms. On arrival to check-in, there was a problem: they only had one room! What they had planned to do was send one couple down the road to one of their other apartments/hotels. We explained how this was not acceptable and the only solution they had was that they had a room available that slept up to six people. So we would have to share for three nights and then after that they would get us a second room. They did actually upgrade us from self catering to half board during the stay.
The beds were not changed once during our stay and the towels were old, grey and rough and only got changed once for the week. The floors were really dirty in the apartment and around the complex. Self catering facilities were very poor. We had a two ring hob which took 40 minutes just to boil enough water for two cups of tea! There were about two pans to use. If you wanted a toaster or any other catering equipment, you had to hire these, obviously all at extra cost! Air-conditioning was working as and when it felt like it and as for lights, I think there were about two that worked in the whole area of the apartment.

"Jardin De Playa"

Just come back from a seven night stay at these apartments. They are a little dated but very clean and tidy and in a great location, about 15 minutes from the main resort.
Santa Ponsa is very nice with a wide variety of restaurants catering for all tastes and budgets and lots of family pubs.

Lovely apartments, although very quiet and very much family orientated. Reception staff weren't particularly friendly or helpful and although the rooms were clean, we only got our towels changed about once!
If you are after a fun holiday with your friends, I wouldn't recommend these apartments as they are do not cater for young people after a good time. Also, we had to get taxis every night into the resort centre when we were going out.
The beach featured in the pictures is very misleading - it is merely an inlet of water with a bit of sand! The main beach in the resort centre is where beach lovers should head. Santa Ponsa itself is amazing. I would recommend it to anyone!

"Jardin de Playa Isn't Great"

The apartments need some TLC and the reception staff need to be more helpful. We stayed for ten days with no cleaning or sheet change. Clean towels every other day but some of them not useable - very hard and grey - should be white. Only TV in English was BBC1 from 3.30 until 7pm and Eurosport!! No way to pay to upgrade the TV service. Restaurant was OK and staff there were helpful.
I know that we didn't pay very much and the poor weather didn't help, I would go back to Sant Ponsa but not to the apartments Jardin de Playa.

Complex - 10/10(spendid), staff - 10/10 (excellent, no more than excellent, everyone extremely helpful and friendly), maid/cleaning 5/10 (was the only fly in the ointment, only one change of sheets in two week stay, rooms not swept at any time during our stay).
These opinions are those of HotelStreet visitors and not of HotelStreet.
